Poor final, glad Lewis won though.

I think I might be the only person on the planet that doesn't like Hamilton.

Shame they're almost forced to give him a PL wildcard now.

So Lewis won? That's nice.

Poor Championships overall a few good games aside. Lewis thinks he will win 10 world's. I think that is fairly unlikely. More likely he gets around 5 or 6. How the **** did Wade not win this I'll never know. Perhaps he won't win one for a long time.

I wouldn't call it a poor championship and there were some absolute cracking matches played that will live long in the memory.

To think Lewis could easily have been dumped out in the 1st round. Oh, what could have been. I agree with you about Lewis, I'd set the line at around 5-6. The thing with Lewis is that he is such an awesome front runner, once he gets his nose in front he's hard to pin back. Big thing for him is keeping his head in the game, could easily lose focus.

Still think Taylor wins another 1 or 2 at least.

Taylor's a terrible loser. If he doesn't get off to a good start in 2012, I think you could see him heading for retirement pretty quickly. Odds on tho that he does have a good 2012 and goes on to win a couple more.

So who would you guys have as your 8 in the PL?

Btw, is Barney def in?

Wikipedia has Lewis/Taylor/Wade/Anderson as the 4 confirmed so far. Is there a chance Barney misses out?

Best thing to come out of this World Championship was Wayne Mardle cementing himself as the GOAT commentator.

barney won't miss out as they love money. only way barney doesn't play is if he declines an invite, which has a non-zero chance but i doubt it

have to add on whitlock and anderson, so one more. possibly nicholson, newton cocked it up in the worlds, webster did the same (and has had a shot already), painter isn't money, perhaps jenkins. so something like that. personally i'd have nicholson for sure

Anderson already confirmed so I guess we have 6 we know of;

Taylor
Lewis
Barney
Wade
Anderson
Whitlock

I would like Nicholson myself just for the entertainment value. I guess they will have to consider Hamilton but I would hate to see him in it, just doesn't have the PL style, if that makes sense. Not a fan.

I'd take either Painter/Part/VVDV/Van Gerwen/Jenkins as the 8th player.

I still have this horrible sinking feeling they're going to give Hankey a spot.

My 8 would be :

Taylor
Lewis
Wade
Anderson
Barney
Whitlock
Painter
van Gerwen

The 8 I think they'll go with :

Taylor
Lewis
Wade
Anderson
Barney
Whitlock
Hamilton
Hankey

well they announce tonight so i doubt they offer him a spot while he's still down to play lakeside next week

Just throw out the rule book and give the last two spots to van Gerwen and Huybrechts/Petersen. Infinitely better for current tv ratings and the future of the game.

Barry Hearn is a progressive thinker, isn't he?

Didn't know it was being announced tonight.

They left a spot hanging open the year Barney came over didn't they? (until he was finished with Lakeside)
