God damnit, when I was growing up it was always Priestley on the PDC side, Barney on the BDO side, then when he did switch he gave us my single most memorable moment in the history of the sport.

I'm guessing a few people have seen it already, and it's not particularly new, but I got round to watching the exbo that Taylor played against Leighton Bennett earlier in the year, and I think it's worth the watch, if only because Bennett supposedly pwned in the recent international games and his name's been flagged up again:

Lolwade managed to win both Pro Tour events this weekend to make it 3/4 in the past ten days, he might be the second best player in the world right now and as such I've taken him e/w for the worlds

That Bennett kid also made the semis of a major BDO open with 800+ runners yesterday, it's such a shame that you need to be 16 to play Q-School

That Bennett kid continues to impress, he made the semis of another big BDO open two weeks ago, and won a big independent open (the one dartsplanet organised) and hit a nine darter while doing so

Bump for the World Cup, a fun enough side event in itself.

There's four players that I'm seeing as having better than a 1 in 3 shot to make the semis, and three of them are in the other half to MvG, so have hammered Cross/Price/Wright each way out of general principle. Wright actually has the biggest chance to win his quarter out of anyone in the draw, oddly enough

I like Gurney out of that quarter, guessing your computer doesnt?

Few things at work there:

a) In that quarter every seed has a bottom half level of Pro Tour qualifier in the first round so Wright has a really easy pass
b) Wright has, with the possible exception of Darren Webster, by far the easiest second round opponent in Whitlock - if Whitlock wins, which the bookies think's a flip and I think is a bit less likely than that, and Hendo's not much better
c) On the other hand, Clayton is a very underrated opponent who's scoring about the same as Gurney this year and has also won an event this year
d) Wright's been playing clearly better darts than Gurney all year - while in the legs they've lost they average about the same, Wright's scoring a clear about 3.50 points more per turn in the legs they've won
e) Gurney leads all qualifiers in consistency rating, i.e. the average he's getting when he loses a leg is the closest to what he gets when he wins a leg, by a clear point more than anyone in the field. As the computer works off speed of legs won and doesn't extrapolate off what might have happened when they lost the leg, it thinks Gurney's not that impressive and rates him as a dog against all possible first/second round opponents and a huge dog to Wright
f) Betting against Gurney when Gurney is the favourite has been hugely profitable ever since we tipped Hendo to knock him out of the worlds a couple of years ago - since we took bad Lewis to beat him in the worlds we've done it twelve times inclusive and are making 33% ROI
