It's the age at the start of the year, DVDB was young enough then.

That said, there's a whole huge cluster**** of a discussion on Twatter right now as to what the heck is going on with the last worlds qualifying spots, and it seems as if they're rigging the draw so that the Pro Tour qualifiers will get the other qualifiers (not actually listed in any rules anywhere, just Hearn saying that's how it's going down), and as such it's correct for both the world youth finalists to throw the final

Seedings for the worlds look to give us the following last 32 if everyone wins:

MvG/Hopp
Lewis/Barney
Whitlock/Norris
Wade/Klaasen
GAndo/Wattimena
DWebster/Beaton
Gurney/JLewis
Chisnall/KHuybrechts
Cross/Reyes
Clayton/Bunting
Suljovic/Wilson
Smith/Hendo
Wright/van de Pas
Cullen/King
Price/KAndo
White/West

Won't speculate beyond that as to what's going on as everything else is a terribly disorganised mess that wouldn't be out of place in the BDO

There's a tout on Twitter who'll be crowing about that as he'll tell all and sundry about how you should be laying MvG to win a tournament ante-post and how he's thousands of GBP up because of it. Meh...chinny reckon but good for you, fella.

I wouldn't want to be backing MvG at such short odds to win the WC, he's currently a best-priced 6/4, but the general volatility this year in that PDC events have been 'shared out' yet MvG has won the most events means this fella is either lying or he's got lucky to lay MvG in certain events and get away with it.

Strange in the space of a week both Gary and MvG losing in finals after beating each other in the semi to all but give them the title.

Worlds going to be brilliant.

Is the format out for the World this year (in terms of sets etc)
I would assume

96. 3 sets
64. 3 sets
32. 4 sets
16. 4 sets
8. 5 sets
4. 6 sets
2. 7 sets

If it was as described the line for ROW/women advancing would have to only be around 6 of 32

I've seen that guy and he seems like a tool but at least he's right that MvG is generally too short, I think I've only backed him twice this year, both times vs Anderson

As an aside I'd take Hunt, Razma and Burton to win the last three spots

Hunt - yes
Burton - yes
Razma - loses deciding leg in final, bastard

GENTLEMEN, YOU HAVE ONE WEEK:

I have the preview done, I just need to work out how the **** to use dropbox. Everyone likes 68 page PDF's, don't they?

If anyone has been trying to access the site over the last 24 hours I've bought a new domain and the redirect is botched, try tungstenanalysis instead

edit - download the preview at https://www.dropbox.com/s/8hn4xetgby...eview.pdf?dl=0 - view it like a book obviously

Pretty excited for the WC, hope that MVG can win it again.

Although I guess the first round is always a bit underwhelming.

Who are you guys rooting for ?

Wanting an MvG/Ando semi and a new finalist from the other half. I'd like Suljovic or Smith to bink it but I can't look past whoever takes that first semi final

Still a couple of days to get your fantasy lineups in, people leaving it until the last minute I guess. I've run the predictions for rounds one and two but until this Internet outage sorts itself I can't post

Pretty nice (downloadable) preview you wrote there by the way, good job.

Out of curiosity, are you a big betting man yourself or do you 'just' provide information to other gamblers ?

Not massively, I just try to analyse for entertainment and to pick up a few quit here and there

http://www.tungstenanalysis.com/2018...-bets-and.html

First round bets and early second round leans are up. Benito van de Pas is the favourite against Mickey Mansell. Words fail me.

...anyone up for some casual sidebetting?

Leggooooooooooooo

Today probably the day I'm most looking forward to for Round 1.

Hoping for some awkwardness in the Dekker vs Ashton match and a tight match between De Zwaan vs Cross.

Harris on crack, tries 17-bull out for 67 to break and throw for the match, then in the next leg busts 134 somehow

Harris looks like the small guy that you go and pick out of a group of guys to beat up to look tough, only to have him completely **** you up.
