At Lakeside, James Richardson off of the PDC met James Richardson off of Football Italia lol

It seems as if some guy on Twatter got over a thousand retweets saying that he'll give everyone a fiver if someone hits a 170 out at Lakeside, which Fitton just did. Obviously I've called him out on the blog and Reddit

just bought a new board and it arrived today. Ordered one of those protective wraparound things too, but that hasn't shown up yet, so I'm still using my old board, which I have velcro'ed on to a ****ty old cork bulletin board. Had t20-t20 and barely missed the 180 on the third dart. Immediately removed the old board from the wall and retired it.

I have never hit a 180. At Christmas I hit 135 with the treble 5 tight to the wire. Gutted. My average would be about 40 btw. I am pants.

Fun fact

I run a tipping competition for the year over all different sports (but mostly Australian based). You get 10 points for each question that is correct, but the points is divided by how many people picked that answer. So if I am the only one to get a question right, I get 10 points. If 5 get it right two points and so on. 100 questions, winning score was 44 this year with 35 contestants. All answers are done prior to Australian Open

Best PDC World Champs performer (excluding MVG) for next year is a question. Someone has taken Phil Taylor to come out of retirement and ship it.

I like it (I took Suljovic haha)

Better pick than Suljovic for sure

Probably haha...

Im gunning for the 10 haha (the prick that won somehow had the Melbourne Rebels for 10, Seb Vettel to win the Australian F1 for 10, and some other 10 pointer, so **** it, Im going deep for the 10 every question hahaha...)

Very surprised to see Mitchell lose to Baetens, thought on his first round form he'd win the whole thing

Durrant/McGeeney starting in about 10 minutes, this could be stupidly one sided given it's the number 1 and 2 seeds

A fairly fun war of attrition as the momentum shifted between them. Glen's a very lucky so-and-so indeed as Mark's arm went funny going for double 18 then double 9.

S'funny switching between the Channel 4 and BT Sport coverage. Think BT Sport narrowly edges it for me...no Rob Walker on there.

Vassos was complete AIDS on C4 as usual and O'Shea may as well not have been there, Rawling/Nicholson much, much better in the first half

So my Ash's Tipsters comp closed entries this week.

Two darts questions out of the 100 questions. A reminder that all the questions are 10 points divided by the number of corrects, so it pays to be unique.

Very similar to me.

I'd I can get down pretty quickly 18 darts or so but just cannot for the life of me hit a double. I've hit a good few T20, T20 and always been miles away with the third or right outside the wire, god it's tilting.

It's a psychological thing, get one and you'll get a bunch. Took me a while, highest was 174 for a while after shanking the second dart into T18

The great thing is to have witnesses. I got three bulls once but nobody else was there so nobody ever believes it (plus, to be fair, I'm a **** player so it does sound kind of hard to believe).

I've been playing regularly for a few months now in a club (not competetively though, not nearly good enough). Just wanted to tell you guys that if you can put two darts into t20 and it's not breaking news each time it happens, you're already incredible. I can hit the 20 more than 50% of the time now but that's it. Really need a board for daily practice nut no opportunity at my current place :/

You get a strap that goes around the door and you can set it up on any door. I put a cork board behind it - you can jam it behind the board so it sits flush and will cause no damage to the door. Perfect. I can't find it for some reason and can find a hook for the back of the door but thats it.

Buying a new house with the missus soon. Have already basically got her to agree with a table tennis table and darts board. Then it's mission 180.

A house being such that there is room for a 9 foot American pool table was a criteria of mine - it is quite limiting!

Going back to darts, when I was a student living on campus one year we were by the bar/sports club. There were no other places nearby so we went there a lot and got on OK with the locals. Darts was a big thing there and one of my flat mates played a few games for the team. The thing about it that has always stuck with me was that everyone was about the same level. You'd think that if you played every night, as these guys did, you'd just get slowly better but people levelled off at a pretty average level. It's just so hard to get near to the level you see on TV.
