It's hard to think of anything; the write-ups are pretty awesome as they are

lol lewis again

just a couple for today:

2.5u Taylor 1/9 vs Webster, he's already qualified and Webster's already out, but Phil's playing on a different level and he's not the type that'll mail it in in this situation. Don't usually buy money like this but it seems like a very good spot to
0.5u Dolan 6/5 vs Adams, barring Hopp beating MvG (lol) it's a simple win and in for Dolan, who didn't exactly play badly against van Gerwen, Dolan returning to some form in qualifying for this and the world series finals isn't undocumented and Adams doesn't look like the Adams of twelve months ago

Tonight also sees White/Fitton, Dobey/Mitchell and Derry/Durrant in straight PDC/BDO shootouts with the winners advancing and the loser going home

Dolan wins, thank god

Can someone confirm that I'm not on the receiving end of a bizarre PDC web/twatter prank and that Phildid actually lose 5-0 kthnx

players advancing are mvg/dolan, taylor/fitton, anderson/durrant and van de pas/dobey

still somehow up despite the lolphil, reviewing the footage now to make sure he wasn't rigging it, but right now for tomorrow i'm liking:

0.5u Noppert 8/13 vs Aspinall, Nathan's played well but is close to drawing dead, Noppert's also played very well and I think he'll hold out here
1u Price evs Thornton, a win of any description advances him on leg difference and he's not exactly been bad so far, Thornton's being unconvincing despite two wins
1u van Barneveld 9/10 vs Suljovic, got to be somewhat brave to bet against Mensur but Barney's not missed a beat and Mensur could easily have lost both his games rather than just one

edit - i've just watched back the taylor/webster match, and for fear of looking for confirmation bias, i have never seen taylor put that many darts on the top wire, be it for trebles (any of them) or doubles, it's literally the first dart 80% of the time. makes no sense, but still

Ahhhhh, that was better

Didn't fancy anything yesterday, but today I have a couple:

0.5u van de Pas 2/1 vs Wade - Benito was very close to winning his group only dropping 3 legs in the process, and he's that much of a dog to lolwade, who only won 2 of his games and really should have lost against Hughes to boot? I'm not having that. I only have them a couple of places different in my rankings (Wade 8, BVDP 10), this is closer than the bookies indicate

1u Hughes evs vs Dobey - Now I'm a huge Dobey mark as you're probably aware, but most bookies lining this up as a flip? That seems to be an overreaction. Dobey is quality but Hughes advanced out of a Wade/Chizzy/Wilson group compared to Dobey taking out an out of sorts Lewis and Mitchell. Hughes has much more big stage experience and is the home town guy, I want Dobey to win but he seems really overvalued here

nice job winning two whole legs benito

Only the one bet for the quarter finals, 0.5u Barney 21/10vs Anderson, still question marks over Gary whereas Barney has answered everything. Dobey is an OK price but don't know how he'll react in a really long race. Taylor/Wright with snakebite as a 2/1 dog is interesting but Phil's really good at long leg formats so idk

yeah, that was a clinic

also interesting to see that noppert got backed in from 12's to 11/2 for the lakeside. that said, not knowing how their qualification is going i'd prefer reynolds at 20's if i'm going for a punt there

Finals day today

Nothing on Wright/MvG. 5/1 for Wright is kind of tempting, but then again:

Doesn't really indicate that Wright can pull out the win often enough. Don't think MvG is on all cylinders but at the same time he's not been pushed yet

1.5u Anderson 4/11 vs Wade. From about leg 18 onwards, when Barney had done decently to pull it back from an early 4-1 deficit (including two breaks), this was peak Anderson. And peak Anderson beats Wade more than 75% of the time over a long, long legs format. Wade wasn't really tested against Dobey, who missed a few chances to make it closer, and Wade's power scoring really wasn't there, 39 tons vs 18 140+ scores is not going to hack it - especially given Wade switches less than most players on the circuit so it's not as if there's a bunch of 136's in that total. He still looked deadly on 40/20 to kill but Ando's not going to let him get that far often enough, and Wade has not been good enough on big outshots to compensate

Probably fire Anderson over MvG in the final dependent on odds. Cannot overstate how good he was yesterday.

The last few legs of that Barney / Anderson match last night was unbelievable. Anderson just hit the turbo switch and took off lol

lol other anderson, as he needs to renew his visa and has withdrawn from the players champs next weekend. As such, Hamilton is now in, and Mensur plays Barney round one

Random interview implying that Suljovic would decline a premier league wildcard if offered, citing travel/family/cost:benefit, which would be an interesting choice but somewhat understandable

Players championship starts tomorrow. Unleash the bets:

0.5u Wattimena 27/20, Murnan's never really looked convincing ever
0.25u Stevenson 21/5 vs Klaasen, seemed to end up at the business end of a few tournaments which are all of this length of recent, worth a micro punt
0.5u D Webster evs, Clayton's not done anywhere near enough to make this a pick'em match
0.25u King 5/2, Wade's playing OK, King not so much, but over a short race, what the hell

Given 32 matches and a bunch of players you don't usually see I thought I'd see more opportunities, kind of like the UK Open, but oh well, wait for round 2 I guess.

Close to done with the international qualifiers for the worlds, just the soft tip final to go. Apart from North America sending some random Canadian that isn't even known in Canada it looks a pretty solid lineup

Doesn't Suljovic play virtually every Euro tour event and qualifiers and stuff, so is surely on the road a ton anyway, and particularly in the UK? Can't imagine it wouldn't be financially very beneficial either - someone's bound to throw a big sponsorship package at you, for one.

For most of the time when the PL is on there's just the UK Open qualifiers which only account for two weekends, there's probably the odd Euro event but that's not in the UK so it'd be a case of leave Austria Wednesday - play PL - fly Germany - finish Sunday, get back Monday, then you're on the road back to the UK in a couple of days

Agree that someone will throw enough money at it to make it right, for all the effort the PDC are making to break it in non-Dutch Europe they need someone from there to play the highest level of exbo there is (and who won't get beaten every week like Huybrechts did)

Wattimena 6-0, easy
Webster 6-3, this is fine
Stevenson 4-6, meh, think I was on the right side.

No huge shocks so far with just the Chisnall and Green matches to go in the afternoon session, guess Reyes losing to van Peer is as good as it gets, actually add good Wilson losing to Kamphuis who I thought was playing bad Wilson looking at live updates

Bleh, King got it back to 3-3 and 4-4 and kicked off well in the ninth, then had three crap visits and allowed Wade to break/hold, sigh. The Stevenson one was even better than I thought, he was actually 4-2 up. Norris hit a nine against Smith in his win. No clue why that one was chosen to be on board 2

Today I may not get chance to look at round 3 on the way back from Charlton away, but round 2 bets:

0.5u van den Bergh evs vs Kist, Kist only beat Evans where as Dimitri beat Price, seems in decent form and was unlucky to not make the KO stages of the Slam with two wins
0.25u Dekker 6/4 vs Pipe, Dekker's in a little bit of form and nearly made the worlds from the international qualifiers, Pipe's improved a bit over the last few months but this is closer than it looks
0.25u van Peer 7/4 vs Payne, got to think Berry's in top form with the world youth final tomorrow, Payne's done little since getting that tour win from nowhere and only sneaked past Walsh whereas van Peer dumped out Reyes, albeit with Cristo missing a ****load of doubles
0.5u van Barneveld 10/11 vs Lewis, Barney in good form + Lewis not = bet
0.25u de Graaf 13/8 vs Green, beating Beaton is still decent, Green only got past Petersen, it lays a decent price
