Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship Format
Preliminary Round - Best of seven legs (no tie-break)
First Round - Best of five sets
Second Round - Best of seven sets
Third Round - Best of seven sets
Quarter-Finals - Best of nine sets
Semi-Finals - Best of 11 sets
Final - Best of 13 sets
All sets are the best of five legs.
All matches using the sets format will have a tie-break situation in the deciding set only, where the final set must be won by two clear legs until the score in that final set reaches 5-5.
Should that situation occur, then a sudden-death leg will be played in which the players will throw for the bull to determine who throws first in the sudden-death leg
Posted for update...
Im happy this starts the day after Boxing Day, as I will be home and with my Foxtel by then to keep watching
Personally, If I had an account and could put the bet on, putting some money on now for Taylor to not make the Quarters (stopped by Nicholson in some blatant homerism) I would, since I really think that Nicholson can stop him based on that form vs Mawson. Nicholson will also be able to go the distance over best of 7 sets compared to later where perhaps some players tire at best of 11 or 13...
Also, I think Webster will wipe the floor with Baxter, and that Dudbridge will beat Lewis...
