That's actually a dope idea. Should be a fast surface replacing some of those ridiculously slow hardcourts like they have in Miami

Such an intelligent performance today. Knew he couldn’t match nadal for intensity so played aggressive, shortened the points and pretty much dominated. Continues to astound..

Anyone got stats for winners of rallies over 10, 15 and 20 shots? Feel like roger won a bunch of them

Yeah, I think Fed had the edge in the longer rallies. Waving the white flag halfway through the second was a great move though.

yeah if federer wins , what else does he needs to do ?
Not just beating the top 2 players in the world back to back on the grandest stage but vs actually the suppose 2 best ever, at 38 years old ( in 3 weeks) ...
Without saying he already have the most grand slam wins already ....

Har-Tru is the best surface. So much better than real clay.

he needs to not have losing h2h against both of his greatest rivals, for one.

Meh, he's won the games that count against Nadal from a legacy perspective, imo.
If he wins tomorrow the debate will be finished in terms of a general popular consensus and continued on solely by the denizens of the Internet. I think you know that too.

People said the same when he won Aus Open that time

Well, to be very clear, the man on the street, the crowd at centre court, the analysts covering the sport all rightly adjudge Roger Federer to be the best tennis player to ever walk the earth. Arguably the greatest athlete to ever walk the earth. Were he - a couple of weeks from his 38th birthday - to beat Djokovic to win his 21st Grand Slam it will put an end point on any chink of discussion that it wasn't Federer, always and forever.

You know this to be true.

You also know that Djokovic winning tomorrow - as much as it will give you and your co conspirators on this thread a fun time for a few days - will barely displace the general consensus. In that way, your side of the "debate" has little to gain tomorrow but everything to lose. Harsh, but that's the nature of the scoreboard reading 20 - 15 and your boy being six years younger. Ye almost had something going to be fair, then the GOAT turned 35 and managed to reel off another three seasons of elite play. But that's just what GOATs do I guess - they redefine and reshape expectations within their sport.

you mean Djoko has six more years to match and surpass Fed's records?

I will shut up when Djoko is >38 and it's clear Fed had a more successful career and I might even agree to count his weak era slams the same as Djoko's in the toughest era tennis has ever seen. But not before then.

Nadal having a winning record against Federer would be more impressive if (1) he wasn't so dependent on one surface, and (2) he hadn't lost 6 of their last 7 matchups, with his only win coming on clay.

If Federer was worse on clay or Nadal was better on non-clay surfaces then Federer would likely have the lead H2H. That's not a good look for Nadal.

How cute, mrno is back for another beatdown. H2H is such a terrible, terrible, laughable argument, but I guess that's what people resort to when they have little to nothing else. I could just quote posts from 5 months ago, but what's the point, delusional stans gonna delusional stan.

This is a convenient way of moving the goalposts for someone who's annoyed with Fed's longevity and wants to discredit him. Not because it's impossible that Fed is doping, but the idea that someone can say he's doping while other top players aren't is ridiculous.

You can quote my posts that reduced Fed fans like you to tears and no one ever rebutted. I don't even remember who you are, you're all the same though.

I'm on team Fed too, but bolded is a little too far. If Roger stops there and Djoker or Rafa overtake him, then not only is discussion live, but Roger won't be considered GOAT.
