Some Fed fans need to drop in and let us know how nervous they are about this Novak guy taking the crown.

Obviously Rafa is out.

Still true:
In a large sample size, Novak has a winning record vs Rafa and vs Fed.

Fed has a losing record vs Novak and vs Rafa. lol Raja.

Obvs Rafa is up on Fed, down on Novak.

Guess you better getting hammering the bookies then. He’s not even near 40% to win another slam this year!

Meh match ups are important but the most important factor.

Titles, consistency and longevity are.

Somebody gave you bad numbers.

ATM Djok is 29% at French, 34% at Wimbledon, and 38% at US.

Win 0: 29.1%
Win 1: 44.6%
Win 2: 22.6%
Win 3: 3.7%
Win 1+: 67.2%
Win 2+ 26.3%

His EV is 1.01, or 16 GS by EOY.

I meant to write not even near 50% to win 1. I posted the odds in the ATP thread fwiw

I got to go Fed/Djoke/Nadal as of now. Djokavic is a real live threat to catch him. Amazing era. How do three guys all win 15+ slams in a 15 year span? Okay, longevity. Gonna check out the list of "others" winning majors since 2003. Murray .... ?

Murray and Stan have 3 each.

Cilic and Del Po have the other two.

Safin and Gaudio as well if we're going 2004 onwards.

Roddick too if you want to go since Federer's first:

20: Fed
17: Nadal
15: Djok
3: Stan, Murray
1: Roddick, Gaudio, Safin, Del Potro, Cilic

= 63, which is right because we're one short of a full 'cycle' because Fed started with a Wimbledon and we haven't had French yet.

From wiki: "He won eight singles titles and achieved a career-high ATP singles ranking of world No. 5 in April 2005. Gaudio's most significant title win came at the 2004 French Open, where he defeated fellow Argentine Guillermo Coria in five sets in the final."

Lol it used to be so easy to win slams haha. Poor dudes aged like 25-30

Coria was a beast on clay. He should have won that if he wasn't a nutcase.

Why are we adding 1 to all of them? Surely we just want to know the length of the gap? You dont need to include both years. A guy who only won 1 slam has a 'gap' of 0, not 1. But that's semantics I guess.

Also, Agassi and Becker were both Wimbledon to AO, so its more like 10.5 years (Federer too though that's not relevant yet). Novak is AO to AO so its the full 11 so he should be outright 4th.

If no one younger than Vak starts winning slams, then ya he's going to cruise to 20+ imo, barring injury.

Maybe Fed needs 1 or 2 more
