Then you would be ignoring that Djokovic had to battle against the 3 others in the top 4 when everyone except Federer was in their primes, and he was just past it.

The top 5 would still blow away Fed's early competition, and if you wanted to have the top 10 of 2004 compete against the top 10 of 2016, I imagine it wouldn't even be close.

Guillermo Cora was the 3rd seed at Wimbledon in 2004. Literally a guy who made one final and couldn't even get to the quarters in 2 majors. Basically a guy who was trash on any other surface than clay who was top 3 in the world at one point.

It's not evident that Djokovic has had a better career than Nadal so far. 14 slams for Nadal, 12 for Djokovic. Also pretty even on the H2H. I do expect Djokovic to finish with more slams than Nadal though, so this will be mute soon.

Who the hell says "yankscrub"? We don't have to pretend it didn't happen... He came to Wimbledon holding all 4 majors... basically the only man to do so (tennis was a joke in the 60s)...how is that not enough consistency for some people...

Recency bias is hilarious considering Federer went out of the 2nd round in 2013 at Wimbledon. Even Nadal ****ed up in 2009 at RG going out in the 4th round. All the elite players seem to have at least one bad loss at a major.

But yeah, someone who is continually playing golf in the US should live in Europe and practice on links courses since, you know, that makes a lot of sense.
