Not over yet.

But the lack of secondary scoring is killer for them right now to make a comeback at this stage.

Osgood is the only reason this game is still within reach for the Ducks

Eh, Osgood's playoff SV% is 7th out of 16, 6th out of 8 of the remaining goalies. His GAA is 5th I think, better, although more of that is attributable to the Wings' great puck possession.

He's playing much better than the regular season, but he's not a dominant force or anything. And i think that's been the problem: he's rarely been the reason the Wings won. Of course, when the team around him his been as good as it has, it's hard for that to be the case.

what goal was he supposed to save? seriously.

you have a breakaway snipe, a deflection and a pp goal he obv had no chance on.

The reason why this game is till within reach is because of other players on the ice. believe it or not, 12 people play hockey at a time, not 2.

I give him credit for dropping the gloves though.

I wonder if he knew Francois was a southpaw before he got hit in the chin the first time.

maybe the wings shouldn't turn the puck over twice or fall on their ass on a pp kill.

This series is over imo. No way Wings lose 2-3 with 2-3 left on home ice.

ANH is one of the best road teams. Compare their road record to seeds #3 thru #10 in the west

yeah it's not like the Wings lost 2 of the 3 first games, with 2/3 being at home.

this is false, the red wings need to upgrade in goal this summer. Osgood is an average goalie.

If you look at the goals he is giving up, I'll admit, there haven't been any OMG wtf Ozzie goals outside of game 4 vs. Columbus, but he's also luckboxing out alot where in the regular season he didn't.

like they play the crossed it, hit the defenseman's skate, then went right into osgood instead of 3/4 of an open net.

If you watch games around the league, goalies like Varlamov, Ward, Luongo, Bulin Wall, they are stealing games.

If the wings can get a goalie that can steal games, we would be unstoppable.

As is, collectively, all wing's fans are waiting for Osgood to give up 3 soft goals in the first and then gg playoffs

you sir, are ******ed.

way to bring the jinx out.

fwiw, up until Hossa scored to make it 4-2 in the 3rd, games 1-4 were always within 1 goal or tied.

This is still a pick em series. It's still going 7, I just hope the wings get up for the next three games.

Should be some great hockey

let me make one more point

to all non wings fans

If the wings, with this current team, had Roberto Luongo, what team do you think would have a chance at beating the wings in 7 games?

i mean, the wings would have an enormous edge, but it's a salary capped league. the wings are going to pick up one of the goalies off the scrapheap and play him just like they did with ty conklin.

ken holland has said he's done with spending a ton of money on a goalie.

i agree triumph, and i like the wings philosophy of getting a decent goalie and spending the cash on forwards and offensive d.

just miss the days of having Hasek back there

And since no else seems to want to discuss this series, I'll just talk to myself. He followed that up by fronting Ladd on the GWG in OT. How the hell do you let the guy stand right in front of the goal, and tip in the winner in OT? Brutal 5 minute stretch from Mitchell, just awful.

FML, a couple minutes away from 3-1, now it's 2-2 and a real series. The "Luckbox Express" is clearly off the rails now.

I do think Mitchell was kind of the goat in that game, but when is Vancouver going to realize they can't sit back and be passive with 1 or 2 goal leads against the Hawks? 15 SOG in 3+ periods?

Luongo played superbly again. I honestly didn't think we had a chance to get one past him after those huge kick saves.
