It applies at any point.

don't think there is a minimum required AB for that to apply.

So, let's do the math. Assuming he needs 400 more PA to be eligible, that would require 4.94 PA per game. The average 2 hole hitter gets 4.6 PA per game in the NL, so on average, he would come up 27 at bats short. He's walked 6 times in 107 PA so far, so projecting that out over 373 future PA, he would get 352 AB at that rate. So far, he has 44 hits in 101 AB. So, factoring in 27 0fers, he would need to have x/(101+352+27) >= .4, so 192 hits. So, without those 27 0fers, he would need to go 192/453, or slightly under .424 for the season. He's ahead of pace!

The math doesn't lie.

Yasiel Puig's slugging percentage on grounders would be the 22nd highest slugging percentage in baseball

Here's a great article about his plate coverage. He stands so far back in the box that he can hit inside strikes, yet still can hit the outside edge strikes.

^^^What that guy said^^^

1B, 2B, HR, 2 R. Hitting .448. Plus, had a nice catch earlier. Now guaranteed to get up with a triple needed for the cycle.

B2B cycle watches. Unreal.

He was a much bigger deal than Puig is right now even in LA. I think I still have the The Natural SI somewhere.

come 4th of july...

fire up the grill, throw a cold one back and listen to old man vince tell the games story and how the legend of MBP grew. Man its good to be from L.A.

we got it spoiled.

after selling our souls in the 88' WS and having to endure the fox and m**** ownership, things finnally starting to feel like the days of old.

execept for mcguire and mattingly getting in the face of gibson and ted williams. that was weird.

Puig should play in the all-star game. There aren't 6 outfielders in the NL more deserving.
