Superstar Billy Graham was a pioneer in wrestling. His bodybuilder physique and flamboyant personality would be imitated by dozens in later years, including no less than Hulk Hogan.

Graham wrestled in the AWA and several NWA territories with great success, but it was in the WWWF that he made his biggest mark. On April 30, 1977, Graham won the WWWF championship, ending Bruno Sammartino’s long hold on the title.

In the 46-year history of the WWE, Superstar Billy Graham is the longest reigning heel WWE champion, a record that has stood for more than three decades. His sell-out rate when headlining Madison Square Garden is also a record at 95%.

On the mic, Graham got himself over with self-written poetry like this:

I'm the man of the hour, the man with the power, too sweet to be sour. The women's pet, the men's regret. What you see is what you get. And what you don't see is better yet.

He would have had an awesome rivalry with Macho Man

I did a pro wrestling draft like this one earlier this year. My first three picks were Macho Man, Bruno and Graham. Almost unlimited potential with that group.

Yeah, I'd say any draft where you get three long-term WWF champions is a pretty good draft.

I got a break from work. I was going to take Graham, but after all the flack I got for taking a dude with drug problems, no-show issues, and lack of in ring ability or whatever I figured I had to pass on another high profile guy like that.

Thoughts on Regal now that we can talk about it?

The promo where he talked about why the TV Belt was the best fit for him and how he was going to go door to door to defend the title was my favorite

Regal is great, but I don't see how he works with Slaughter, Ultimate Idiot, and Undertaker. Regal can easily work with Undertaker, but I can't imagine him working too well with Slaughter, and I can't see him working at all with Ultimate Idiot

Anyone willing to PM me and help me discuss a pick? There's a guy I want, but my memories of him are kind of hazy.

Billy Graham's a great pick. Hadn't really thought of taking him, but I like the pick a lot and he seems like he'd translate to the modern-day better than a lot of the older guys. That's sweet that he uses the Jesus Christ Superstar song as an intro too. Love that.

Didn't really like a lot of the picks this round though. I've got a couple guys who I desperately want at this point that I think are way better picks at this point of the draft than the people that have been going. Still willing to trade up a few spots if people give me a reasonable offer. Would swap both 6th round picks if you swap in this round for instance. There's only 5 more people ahead of me though so I'm thinking UNDRAFTED might actually slip to me now or if not him UNDRAFTED.

I kept thinking Regal was a bad pick but after thinking more I think he's solid. Good work rate, can work the mic and get solid heel heat and can draw overseas. Juvi is the only headscratching pick for me only because I can't see him being on anybody's radar this early.

well, regal has also had drug problems(its the wrestling business, who hasent(qfcmpunk))

regal is a very good worker, good mic skills. compared with the rest of your roster though, his style looks like it would defenetly clash with the rest of your guys.

Don't really want to go into too much detail as I'm only 6 picks away and there's someone I desperately, desperately want left on the board. I'm afraid that if people know what kind of person I'd be looking for at this point, it might hurt my chances of making a trade with someone who'd still be kinda hoping said person slipped to them if they traded down.
