I also think you would be giving up too much value if we simply swapped 6th rounders(I give: #74, #126, #127....You give: #59, #138, #139).

What about this.....

You'd let me move up from #74 to #59, and in exchange I'll let you move up in every single round I pick ahead of you(rounds 6, 7, and 10). So it would be:

I'll give you: #74, #126, #127, #168, #169, #294, #295
You give me: #59, #138, #139, #180, #181, #306, #307

I don't think I can go any more than that though, as letting you move up six different times is a lot imo. Let me know if you're interested. Lurchy, I'd offer you something similar(or something like I first offered if you like that better).
I accept. You are on the clock.

Somewhere in there, you need a heel/tweener who's credible on his own. Don't like the pick at all.
I mean, I don't think either of us felt very good about taking JBL, but given what we were trying to do, we decided it was prob. the best route to take.

JBL wrestled for nearly 12 years (combined) and if we get each wrestler at their peak of popularity or whatever, we get 12 years of JBL before he runs into back problems. I think he was a solid competitor and didn't have major flaws like the other guys on our board had.

Re: Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft

The weird thing for me seeing this is how loads of guys I only remember as being pretty much midcarders when I last watched in 2001 (Hardy, Guerrero, Bradshaw, Edge) all went on to be maineventers. I can't even remember there being all that many hints or suggestions they would do so. Is this due to a void opening up with the older guard retiring or have they simply broken through on merit?

I'm interested to see who goes now that would've been a better pick. We must've missed some guys on our list.

Re: Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft

Without making too obvious of a reference to undrafteds, I can think of two guys currently embroiled in an awful feud in TNA (well unless it ended at that last PPV, hopefull it did) that would have both worked pretty well with your roster the way it's set up so far. There are other options out there that would have worked better than JBL too though. It's not even that JBL's that bad of a pick at this point in the draft (although I kinda do). I just think that as your #2 wrestler, you need someone a little more credible.

Yeah, not a bad pick, but as you stated you probably didn't need to trade up to get him and if you missed out, I don't think it would have been all that hard to find someone comparable either.

Edge more or less just broke through after turning heel and starting a solo career.
Eddie and JBL were just pushed into the main event because of SmackDown's lack of star power at the time afaik (it was Angle, Lesnar and Big Show pretty much just switching the title between each other).
Jeff got pushed into the main after drawing huge crowd reactions when he came back to WWE in 2006 as a solo wrestler.

I remember Taz nearly killing Bigelow during an epic match in ECW.

Re: Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft

btw I know its late, but the 30 year idea needs to go imo.

I think the best way to judge this is something previously mentioned about a PPV or something of that nature

I can't believe I forgot to post this in my last write-up. This might be the funniest thing I've ever seen in wrestling.

Jimmy Garvin and Sunshine are David Von Erich's 'Valet for a Day'

Nah, then our strategies would have been way different.

Jeez, Assani's guys are gonna put on some sick matches but they'll all be dead/crippled within 5 years.

If we did this, then guys like the Rock would move way up imo.

Any thoughts on pairing Taker/Warrior with Sgt. Slaughter?

Trying to recreate 1991 WWF? If you had Savage you would have all of Warrior's feuds that year.

I never took Slaughter seriously as a heel when growing up. I always thought he was just a gimmick and had no real chance to beat anybody decent.

My next pick will either melt everyone's faces or clinch that I win this draft. No in-between.

Imagine the life of a jobber in this promotion:

"O.K., UNNAMED, you've got Foley tonight in a barbed wire match. Tomorrow in Atlanta you get Vaderbombed on the concrete. Wednesday in San Juan, Brody is going to beat the hell out of you for ten minutes and you get Bigelow landing on you on Thursday. Here's $150 for tonight. Go get 'em!"

Agreed. His title win put Savage over way more than him.
