Re: Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft

There's double picks starting round 6, you'll see some teams go then.

The Rack actually ****ing hurts.

EDIT: I was 13 when my youth hoops coach playfully put it on me. The strength/size difference sorta mattered LOL.

I was 13-14 at that point and I actually thought that gimmick was kinda cool. Lame ... but worked for me.

Luger racks Hogan: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MEuQRggqU7A
They put that move over so hard

Man Nitro was awesome. Actually usually it'd be like 2.5 hrs of crap and then a few really awesome moments. Love people throwing trash in the ring, definitely one the best aspects of that era.

Re: Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft

I am going to waste my entire day on this thread. My family members, co-workers, church friends and youth group kids I mentor would be appalled. I think that's great.

EDIT: No wonder I'm divorced.

GoldenRhino posted on the spreadsheet that he won't be in until 5 EST so you probably won't be picking anytime soon.

Re: Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft

I love Hansen but it's hard for me to get a good grasp on him given so many of his best matches were in Japan.

There's another guy I'm thinking of who was great over there but average (at best) here in about the same time frame.

EDIT: Overall he's not as good as Hansen though.

OK, I won't be posting my list of best wrestling matches anytime real soon because of undrafteds. Just realized that as I started working on it.

yea, I wouldn't say that Luger was one of those heels that casuals really got into. He was never booked well at all, and he needed some booking help

austin didn't job to lesnar because it was a random monday night raw that they wanted him to lose on. Austin did the right thing for business because doing that job was so WCW in trying to pop a rating as opposed to doing a ppv that would get lot of buys

red had a big year that year. IIRC there was a big chase for him getting the X division title and he had done some big matches in RoH. It was right after WCW folded and Vince blew the invasion angle. TNA was on a weekly PPV schedule and WWE was the only game in town, so there were a lot of indy guys that were higher then they'd normally be

I was assuming whatever happens in Japan stays in Japan. Except for Godzilla. And Maria Ozawa.

Yeah, I realized that after I posted mine and got rid of all the undrafteds, but it got quoted as I was editing. Sorry about that.

can't see that guy really getting drafted. His style was always better suited to Japan, but I do love that a certain douchebag wrestler got hurt by the gaijin because he didn't listen to what the gaijin was calling in the match

he had major matches with Sammartino in the 70s, won the AWA title when it meant something and was generally positioned as a top heel in a lot of different territories from the 70s-late 80s. He never had a long heel run with any belt because he was bouncing between a lot of territories and japan
