Wish I had the time to do this, but I think a better way to rate these would to be to list each individual pick per category and use those totals (ie: Hogan No. 1 drawing or wahtever and Razor No. 20). But that **** would take fo-evah!

Also, I would throw in fireworks used in entrance and Edge would be Undertaker, but Kane would probably be the overall No. 1.

Tied for first! I can't complain about that ranking.

Dusty was a steal and should have gone in the mid to late first round. He's simply one of the greatest faces ever. I'm assuming he got passed over simply because his prime ended in the mid-80s and his active career ended in 1991.

Using the PWI Most Popular Wrestler Awards as an unbiased judge, this is where Dusty ranked during his ten-year prime.

1978: 1st
1979: 1st
1980: 2nd
1981: 4th
1982: 4th
1983: 2nd
1984: 3rd
1985: -
1986: -
1987: 1st

Dusty also got the Wrestling Observer Newsletter 'Best Babyface" award in 1980 (Hogan won from '82 to '91).

Dusty's got two PWI 'Match of the Year' awards (1979, 1986) and two 'Wrestler of the Year' awards (1977, 1978). He's also got a 'Most Charasmatic' from WON (and a bunch of 'bad' awards post-1987 ).

I actually think an Angle-Rhodes feud would be great. They've both got an 'American' gimmick but they're polar opposites. It would be easy for them to play off that during promos.

LOL, this post reminded me of some Jerry the King gold....it used to crack me up so bad when he would never call Kane by the name Kane, he would always call him Big Red ******, so hilarious....heel announcer Jerry was tremendous

there is a guy out there who I think is clearly the BPA.

Also, I think Warrior is being underrated here. His career match with Savage was very riveting. He also had some good stuff with Taker, esp. the casket matches and did a good job of mocking Rude during their feud.

Theres 3 guys I'm very interested to see where they go now.

One has a skillset very similar to someone taken in the first round but I think 3rd round is the right range for him

The other two have massive upside but I really don't know if theyre on anyones radar. With that in mind they might be reaches at this point but I'm not sure. Am very interested to see how far they fall.

I started reading about a guy who I think could be really good on wiki and then that leads you to another few guys and then some more people. God, this is going to be the greatest thread in 2+2 history.

Great picks
Edge:He's incredible on the ring and on the mic, definetely a first round talent.
Owen Hart: Was excellent all around, should have and would have got a big push but we all know what happened.
Harley Race: Great body, one of the best for a long time.
Dusty Rhodes: Good enough in the ring, amazing on the mic, best theme song of all time.

Bad Picks
Vader: He's good but its a huge reach there's now way he's better than the 4 guys I above + a few undrafteds.
Batista: Its a reach, he hasn't been around that long and he's not that great. There are certainly better big guys available. But he is a good match for Hogan.

Razor Ramon/Lesnar/Rude are all solid picks

Goldberg/Warrior: Are intersting and difficult to quanitfy, depends how you use them and who you pair them with. They were not tecnically proficient but they were huge draws and had long peaks. I think a lot of the retroactive hate on the Warrior, is Vince going out of his way to market how bad the Warrior was because he has a grudge against him.

Man, was Goldberg really that bad in the ring? I knew he wasn't the greatest but he didn't seem awful when I watched. Granted, a lot of that probably changed when he scrambled Bret's brain around, but he seemed like a decent worker from what I remember.

Goldberg with Vince seems fine

Goldberg was simply inexperienced. He was being asked to be a main eventer just one year after his debut. Compare that to Hogan who took at least five years (1977 debut to 1982 main eventer in AWA).

Edge was the guy I was touting as super underrated from the start. He's awesome and should have gone in the 1st round easily.

Giving RVD a 3 for drawing power below guys like CM Punk, Chris Benoit, Owen Hart, and even Chris Jericho is ridiculous. Whenever he's been given even a weak main event push he's been ridiculously over and is one of the few wrestlers out there who people will tune in just to see him wrestle. His drawing power is a big part of the reason I selected him so high.

I mean obviously, when he gets jobbed into the lower midcard after previously being in the main event picture, people will start to lose interest a little but whenever he's been pushed at all he's gotten huge, huge reactions.

The trouble with RVD is he's so one dimensional that I think you'll struggle to keep him relevant for 30 years. This really wouldn't be a massive flaw if you hadn't drafted him in the first round indicating he was going to have to carry your entire promotion on his back.

But you have Cena now so its all good :b

i agree that rvd should have highed drawing power. he was the whole f'n show in ecw for a long time. his trouble is that he was so sloppy in the ring, that you can see why he would have trouble.

Belated write-up for Lesnar (Round 2, #42 overall):

After a number of my preferred choices flew off the board earlier in the second round, Lesnar was the obvious choice (imo) at #42. Though his career in the WWE was short-lived, Lesnar made an indellable impact as one of the best all-around big men in the company's storied history.

The Look:

This dude was straight freakish:

6'2'', 300 lbs., with giant' weird animal tats all over his upper body. Add in a fire hydrant head and canned ham fists and Lesnar actually looked like as if he would snap someone in half (in after Bob Holly). What I thought was kinda an interesting dynamic about Lesnar's size was that he appeared to be sooooooo much bigger than he really was. True, TV makes people/things look bigger anyway, but having seen Lesnar in person and up close twice, I can personally attest to the fact that the man is a rhinocersis.

The In-Ring Product:

When thinking of your favorite big man ask yourself this: How many of his matches looked the same start to finish? No two of Lesnar's matches were identical due in large part to his seemingly limitless moveset. Instead of slowing down speedier, more athletic wrestlers like Angle, Benoit, and Guererro, Lesnar was able to easily keep pace and give the fans an intriguing scientific match with a mix of brawling. Brock's obvious stregnth, natural athleticism, and deceptive speed all blended together to form a super athlete capabale of pulling off almost any manuever (Yes, he can actually hit the shooting star press). Towards the end of Lesnar's career, he had an excellent series of matches with Kurt Angle including the WM 19 classic. Brock's feud with the Big Show was probably the 500 pounder's best big man feud of his WWE career.

Mic Skills:

I rate Lesnar about a C+ in this category. Paul Heyman was his manager early on for a reason: Lesnar couldn't properly promote himself and rather than having another mouth-drooling big man ruin his rep., Vince paired him with an accomplished promoter that could adequetly make Lesnar's name household. After Lesnar went solo and was given more solo promo opportunities, I really felt that he grew in this category. Sure, his talking abilities were a far cry from Austin's, The Rock's, Triple H, or even Kurt Angle, but they weren't terrible and it showed that he had personality which we all know is key to character development.

Roster to date:

Stone Cold Steve Austin
Brock Lesnar

A couple notes on my rankings:

1. I did the whole thing in about 40 minutes at 3 in the freakin' morning. I'm sure if I fine-tooth comb it, I'm going to find things that, upon reflection, will confirm I'm a moran.

2. There's no way of escaping some personal bias. I'm a bigger fan of some guys (Orton) than others, and am less keen on some guys (RVD, Lawler) than others. I'm not going to say I'm right and anyone else is wrong, it's just personal preference.

3. I'm really in the mood to do some kind of top-10 matches of all-time list ... which I'm sure I'd either miss some great ones or would make some tough calls and leave out some matches that would make people go ape**** at me.

(Here's an opinion I've had for a long time that no one ever agrees with me about, so it must just be me: I personally do not like the Hart/Michaels Ironman match, at least not as a "best of all-time" match. I've watched it like 20 times ... the last 10 minutes plus overtime is brilliant, well thought out and well executed ... but the first 50 minutes drag (not the wrestlers' fault) and a full-tilt 30-minute match where they didn't have to pace themselves so much would have been better. Now tell me I'm crazy :-D (I concede the "Ironman Match" stipulation made me anticipate the match going into WM XII more than a regular match would have, so I'll give it that.)
