Disagree with this but I know a lot of people have the same opinion as you. Nevertheless whether you like him or not he is a massive draw, crosses over well into other forms of media and is a fantastic tool for expanding the company

hahaahah, I didn't pay attention to the fact that that wasn't really him picking ... I had to double check the picture to make sure I wasn't missing something ... then looked @ the name and realized it wasn't legit.

Nice one ...

I didn't bother to look up what his real theme was.

My choice is better anyway.

Can't believe people are hating on The Rock. People should really know their roles and shut their mouths.

Re: Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft

oh, and Im pretty sure dnky is taking Billy Smith!

anyone remember Billy Smith? He was that skinny pale dude that used to run into the ring with those red shorts on (in the early 90's) and was just basically a human punching bag the big namd wrestlers used to beat on just to pad their "stats".

Anyway, dnky picks Billy SMith...for his Heart, Perserverence and ability to take a licking and keep on ticking.

Hes so obscure I cant even find a pic of him on google. lol

As compared to what qualities Terry Funk possessed? How can you just list one quality Foley had and use that as evidence that he trumps Funk? It's not like these guys were equal outside of their mic work.

I think there's a massive favorite for who he will pick considering how highly he valued Punk.

The fun of these drafts is to rip on picks, especially on CM Punk at #12.

I can certainly name guys who have held the top belt for a Federation and that the federation has had plans to do things with that haven't done all that well later on in their careers
I disagree. I am by far the biggest Cena hater that there is, I truly despise the gimmick that he's saddled with in this new PG environment of the WWE. I cringe now everytime I hear him on the mic and it's a total channel flipper for me. It is what it is, and I do understand that Cena is directly marketed to kids now.

As a performer though he's very underrated. Let's put it this way, had Cena been around during the attitude era, we would be talking about Cena as one of the biggest stars there ever were. We already know that Cena is a fantastic heel with charisma that's on another level. Had he been not tied down in the current PG environment that WWE has mandated and was allowed to be unleashed we'd be talking about him as an all time great.
I respect guys like Cena who started off as a midcarder and made it to become a star on his own by being popular and in tune with the crowd. When he did his heel rapper gimmick and his feud with UNDRAFTED who at the time was WWE's champion the fans took to Cena as a top star. I have more respect for guys like Cena and RVD and UNDRAFTED who the audience loved so much and made them into stars despite what WWE thought, rather than guys like HHH who WWE wanted to shove down our throats until we finally had to accept as a star. I would rank HHH very very low as I always believed HHH was a product of the WWE machine.

As far as workrate of Cena goes, the pro wrestling business and even entire promotions have been made by guys who couldn't work. Millions and millions of dollars have been made by such guys who even though couldn't work had that most important variable MikeyPatriot talked about, and that was the ability to draw money. Would you say someone like Hogan is a good technical wrestler? Fans would come from all over and paid their money to go see Hogan "hulk up" do the big boot and drop the leg drop. They would go crazy and went home happy.

The wrestling business is flooded with guys who are great technically but you put them in front of an audience and they wouldn't be able to draw a dime. As a worker Cena isn't great but it's by no means horrible either. Cena has that charisma, that "it" factor that every wrestler hoped to have. Like I said earlier, had Cena showed up during the attitude era a lot of the Cena haters would think very differently of him.

/end rant. (can't believe I defended Cena)

I mean his first three segments and two matches were with Kurt Angle, Vince McMahon, and Chris Jericho. They obviously had big plans for him from the start.

Compare that to C.M. Punk who was placed against Justin Credible, Chris Anderson, Stevie Richards, Shannon Moore, and whose first real feud in the WWE was with Mike Knox.

Yeah they had huge plans for Cena when he first started. He was considered a blue chip can't miss prospect. He had the entire package, great look and good on the mic. He's very similar to the Rock when he first showed up. Rock who was another can't miss prospect was also given the green light at first by WWE but the fans didn't take him as a top star right away, just like Cena. They cooled off and eventually because of their charisma made it on their own despite WWE.

Cena was actually pretty good as Prototype in OVW. I enjoyed the Rap Gimmick that he had ... now he's getting a little too cheesy
