With our second round pick, Rhino Wrestling Promotions is proud to pick:

INTRO

Spoiler:

Jake "The Snake" Roberts

I know that he had a relatively short and troubled career, but I figure that's why he's still available at 30. One of the best of his era. Jake could wrestle, and like the Macho Man, was great on the mic. Sure, he's here for a good time and not for a long time, but I will get one of the all time greats while I have him. Plus, he had my favourite finishing move of all time: THE DDT

I'm in class from now until 8:30, I'm on my phone right now so obv can't do a solid PM, wasn't expecting this kind of run....I think I need the time to mull my choices anyway, but should have my pick up between 830-930

Just make a pick on your phone and do the write-up later

I haven't been following much, but Jake Robers is sick value where he went imo. I don't have a problem with Stone Cold #1 but it's a reach, as is the rock. My top 5 1)flair 2)hogan 3)hbk 4)stone cold 5)taker

You can hate his politicing or his work rate, but the fans love him. He pretty much had a hand is making the NWO and DX. The NWO was the biggest angle ever. He is also hilarious on the mic. I think he is a notch above the guys wrestling today when there is a new champion every other month.

Meh, don't really see how Jake Roberts is sick value

Jake the Snake does not seem like a good pick to me, never thought he was that great. The guy I was referring to before as super underrated is still out there.

On second thought I think I can pull off a solid write-up from my phone during class if it gets to me

He was a top worker in the WWF. He was soo good he didnt need the World Title to draw. I also believe he was in the wrong era. If he was in WWE now he'd be multiple time World Champion and the top draw. He has held major championships in the WWF WCW and AWA. I believe he was prime for a comeback too until he died. What is there not to love about Mr Perfect

Longevity? His big run was from 86-92 and then a mostly failed return in 96. I think he's an awesome heel (Savage vs Roberts was so far ahead of its time) but there were better options at this spot.

Someone let me know in this thread when I'm up, I'll post my pick ITT, then I'll work on the write-up because obv. It will take alot longer to do it on my phone...so I'll post my pick to keep the draft moving, and writeup will come a little later

Oddly I think my favourite Nash moments were those skits he did with undrafteds at TNA

this is the vince version of wrestling history. New York, San Antonio, and Minneapolis were the only two real promotions that weren't affiliated with the NWA for a very long time, and the big money for the most part was from the NWA afilliates. There were plenty of massive shows from promoters like Paul Boesch, Roy Shire, Eddie Graham, Jim Barnett, and Sam Muchnick that were done under the NWA banner during the territory years, and then Jim Crockett did Starrcade before Vince did wrestlemania. Not to mention some of the big shows from the UIC pavilion that Verne Gagne did with AWA. Its only really been in the last 20ish years that the wrestling world has been focused on New York

he was a huge draw for the NWA in the late 70s and early 80s. He was a big draw for Vince in the mid-80s, and Piper dominated Portland and San Fransisco wrestling in the 70s and early 80s. Piper was one of the big guns that Vince went after when breaking away from the territorial system to a National brand

exactly, and Dibiase was also screwed out of the NWA title between 79-83/84ish as Crockett made some power plays to make sure that he kept the belt in his general hands. If it wasn't for a couple of political plays that were out of DiBiase's hands, he would've gone very high in this

not really, there are definitely guys who should've been picked ahead of him. This is just looking through the modern glass, and even then, there is one or two guys on the WWF roster that haven't been picked ahead of him that I would personally pick
