Re: Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft

Looking at the spreadsheet, I believe deezy/kdawg is up. I think wrane and deezy/kdawg swapped their picks each of the first three rounds.

Re: Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft

DiBiase had to go soon. I have a feeling the early 90s guys are going to get undervalued all draft.

Re: Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft

I feel the same way about Guerrero that I feel about DiBiase: Maybe a slight reach but only slightly. Guy was an amazing wrestler and his mic work really improved during his time in the WWE. Can he carry a company? I'm don't know, but then I'm not 100 percent sure on anyone left.

Dibiase was awesome on the mic but in my limited experience watching his big matches, none stand out as anything special. From what I recall, he had pretty good ring psychology but nothing to write home about.
Ringwise, most of DiBiase's best stuff came before he hit the big time. In the WWF, DiBiase's problem was that he was usually stuck with fairly limited workers, and he pulled a lot of watchable matches out of those guys. Watch any match he did with Savage in 1988 (except the tournament final at WM IV that was too short) and you'll see how great a worker he could be.

Re: Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft

There are 2 guys I would put above the recent speight of picks and feel they could both carry a company. I'm not sure Dibiase, Guerrero and such could do that.

Also by recent speight of picks, I mean except Jericho. Jericho is sick.

Re: Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft

Wesrwood Global Wrestling with the 19th pick takes.

Spoiler:

Spoiler:

I'll do a write up later, but for now I think this is a steal. He has already proven he can start a promotion, regardless if it was just an angle. The NWO was the best angle ever and he started it. Plus he was very popular as Diesel.

Re: Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft

Don't particularly like the Nash pick because if you're going the badass monster route I think there are better guys to do it with. But he did get over huge as Diesel when he went from Shawn's bodyguard to popular WWE champ within, what, 6 months? So it's not a terrible pick, just a touch early IMO.

If Russ gets his pick in quickly, I'll get our two picks in. Writeups will have to wait for Wrane to make them this evening.

Re: Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft

Our pick is such a monster that he did not even have entrance music that would be good enough to convey the feelings felt when he arrived. He just didn't need it.

And so with the 20th pick in the SE Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft, Team Russ-Vickrey Auction selects...

I assume when you draft someone you get their injury record as well?

Re: Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft

Im thinking about how huge he was in the NWO. He showed he have a company built around him. I don't see many people left who you could say the same about. I do have a few others I'm thinking abut for the later picks.

Re: Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft

haven't watched wrestling since 2002 but this thread is epic. Like the DiBiase pick, not a fan of some guys before who I thought were a reach.

Kevin Nash the Workrate killa? I hate that guy.

I'm not sure what to make of Sting. His Crow run at the start of the NWO was great but his early 90's stuff I wasn't big on. Then again I was a kid so wtf would I know lol

I have my own guy that i can't believe hasn't gone yet ..... curious to see if he's the same as everyone else.

Re: Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft

When you get Benoit does your promotion also have to deal with the circumstances of his death etc at some point?

I mentioned to Untouchable that I loved Andre but his longevity is a clear hindrance. Don't like him as a first rounder.
