The problem with Hogan is that backstage and in his personal life, he was basically a huge jerk.

he played backstage politics a lot, and had a reputation of always being out for himself (rather than the promotion).

In alot of peoples' eyes, yes, but it is very tough to argue against Stone Cold IMO......he was the industries best entertainer during its most popular years after all.

I think hes clearly either #1 or #2. Stone Cold would fall somewhere in between #4 and #7 imo.

Question: Are we counting on stage performance or are we taking into account stuff like the fact that some wrestlers worked behind the scenes(writing storylines) and that will help your promotion?

Austin and Hogan should be either 1 or 2 IMO as they were the two most popular wrestlers of the two most popular eras.

Round 1: Pick 2
Dwayne "THE ROCK" Johnson

Probably the most charismatic and "over" star in WWE during its prime in the attitude era. The Rock combines unrivaled charisma with underrated in ring ability, and is insanely marketable. He can work a great heel and is one of the most popular faces ever, which instantly gives my roster a lot of versatility. His promo skills are unmatched and he's not a slouch in the ring either. He's basically the perfect guy to start a promotion with.

I don't have much else to say, but here's a youtube video:

Hogan ****ing sucks and even if he's the "right" pick I don't want him anywhere near my roster. Let the hate commence.

I think if we have proof about anything that they did to help the promotion, then that can definitely be used.

Stone Cold and The Rock were basically the #1 and #2 guys when I last really followed wrestling. They were both just absolutely amazing at what they did. Can't go wrong with either of them imo.

Untouchable, I'm going to PM you a question I have.

Rock also falls in that #4-#7 range imo. Hogan is far and away the #1 and its just stupid that he hasn't gone yet. You guys realize this is a 30 year league, right? How long was Rock's career?

Yea, longevity is the only thing that hurts the Rock. But his like once every two year guest appearances draw through the roof. Guy knew how to leave on top.

Nice, all this Hogan hate is awesome......best Rock moment for me was anything from when he was the Corporate Champ, one of the greatest/most hilariously awesome heel runs ever, I used to love busting out a Rock Bottom followed by a Corporate Elbow when I was backyard wrestling as an 11-12 year old.

I would have picked Hogan #1. I just like Stone Cold and The Rock better. The Rock is so sickly entertaining. Good point about the longevity. There aren't a ton of guys that went for 30 years though so it's not really going to be an issue once the few that did are gone.

LOL, Hogan might fall to me at 18th!

The Rock would have a long career if he wasn't so ****ing awesome that he became a goddamn movie star. I don't think him potentially leaving should be considered, it should be based purely on wrestling.

However, Hogan being a huge dbag who sucks at wrestling and probably wouldn't get over today probably should be mentioned imo.

EDIT: Sorry if this comes off as angry, the sports media is tilting me atm.

Hogan was also a huge movie star, yet he kept with wrestling. Imo the rules in the previous thread were fairly clear that longevity counts.

If anyone is up with hogan still on the board and wants to swap picks(every single pick) then I'd do that. Don't even need to PM me to verify.

Goddammit. I think there's a clear cut top 4 and the obvious number 5 is just going to kill me because even though he was way over in his time no one at all here would've been around to be a fan of his.
