Re: Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft

Knew someone would snag Punk in the first. Never really seen any RoH, but hear pretty much nothing but good things.

Definitely think he has the chops to be "the guy", his run with Jeff Hardy earlier this year was great until he got his legs cut out from under him.

Macho Man is definitely not a reach there.

Re: Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft

I'm pretty sure he would've been around much later. Thinking about it a little more, probably worst pick so far.

Re: Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft

CM Punk is my favorite wrestler ever. His battles with Chris Hero in IWA-MS were some of the best matches in wrestling history, but this is a total lol pick.

Best promo ever from CM Punk himself

Re: Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft

Love the Macho Man pick. Woulda taken him #6 in this.

His character is awesome because it's kind of generic but at the same time really unique. The voice, the crazy mannerisms, and the over the top outfits - nothing is really like Macho Madness.

Except he would have been available for a long time after this. And the guy that got picked after Punk is much better anyway.

Re: Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft

punk is far and away a better pick than macho man. this short in to his carear, punk has done MUCH more than macho man. super reach.

and as far as my pick being a reach, yep probally. but all my picks are gonna be "reaches", so i wont take it personally.

im not a fan of the 80s in wrestling. not enough real action. i would have been willing to take punk #1 overall

Doing more now is watered down though, since the titles are passed a hell of a lot more.

Mach is also pretty widely-recognized after a few movie cameos and the Slim Jim commercials.

Re: Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft

Punks a reach, but 4 or 5 years from now he'll be the biggest star in the industry...he's already the best in ring worker ot of the main eventers WWE has, and is really the total package when you factor in his mic skill, guy is a ****ing great heel...I was gong to draft him in the 4th round or so on the basis of his immense future potential alone.

Assani, love the Foley pick

Yeah, I have to be careful about checking to see who's up next. Almost got myself there.

I'm not a fan of modern wrestling. The storylines are awful. This is why the late 90s were the best, as it combined great story telling with excellent wrestling.

I'm not following this thread because I'm not a huge enough wrestling buff, but I wanted to check in and see what was said re: Taker. In my heyday of watching/following WWF, there was nothing - NOTHING - like an Undertaker entrance.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUR_YxaESUc I haven't watched regularly in 10 years, but I could watch this video over and over and over without getting tired of it.

Plus, when I was like 10 I met him in an airport. I was afraid to go up to him, but luckily my older brother was with me

Makes me want to get to a live PPV just to see it in person. Only live WWF event I ever went to was X-8 in Toronto, and that was Taker's ****ty biker days.

Just one reason why Savage is awesome:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EkI_1...eature=related

Arguably the best match in WWF history.
