A big reason why Vince Jr. could be the "final say" guy as an owner was that he did so many individual jobs earlier as an employee.
but everyone wants to give him credit for booking wwe in the attidude era. the fact is he did not.

But if Vince never comes out and actually participates as a character, then the Attitude Era doesn't happen. He made that decision at least.

Edit: Will say that it still might happen, but it would be drastically impacted in a negative way.

I'm surprised one person hasn't been drafted. Off the top of my head, he might be the only big name guy left.

Re: Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft

DNKY PURE WRESTLING symbolizes the best in professional wrestling action. Our wrestlers will have all the tools:
Wrestlers who can steal the show every single time the enter the ring.
Wrestlers who's promo abilities are second to none.
Wrestlers who are able to engage the fans, now matter whether the fans like them or not.
Wrestlers who are able to get the fans to hate them, or to love them.

Our first pick symbolizes all of these goals.

With the 12th pick in the SE Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft, DNKY PURE WRESTLING selects....

CM PUNK

CM Punk has been in the SPORT of professional wrestling for many years, having his start on a national level in Ring Of Honor back in 2003. He was 2 time tag team champion in ROH with his Second City Saints partner Colt Cabana, who you may know as Scotty Goldman. On October 16th 2004, Punk wrestled against Samoa Joe in a 60 minute draw which was called a 5 star match by professional wrestking writer Dave Meltzer, the first 5 star match in the US since 1997 to that point. On what was supposed to be his last night in ROH before he left for the WWE, he won the ROH World Championship. As a result, he continued wrestling for ROH, every time claiming that he would leave the company as their champion.

After leaving ROH, CM Punk landed in WWE's developmental brand, Ohio Valley Wrestling. During his tenure for OVW, CM Punk won all three championships available to be won, the TV Championship, the Tag Team Championship, and the Heavyweight Championship, showing that he is an all around wrestler, capable of performing on the big stage.

He then debuted in the new ECW at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City to huge fan support. After alittle more than a year with ECW, Punk defeated John Morrison to win the ECW Championship. During his time with ECW, Punk also won the Money in the Bank ladder match at Wrestlemania XXIV.

Shortly after his MITB win, Punk was drafted to Raw. This is when Punks career really sped up. The week after Punk was drafted, he cashed in his MITB contract, and defeated Edge to win the World Heavyweight Championship for the first time. Punk also won the Tag Team Championship with Kofi Kingston, and then the Intercontinental Championship to become the 19th Triple Crown Champion in WWE history. Punk also won the MITB match at Wrestlemania XXV, becoming the first wrestler to win the MITB match twice, doing so in back to back years. This would not be the last we would hear from Punk.

After Wrestlemania XXV, Punk was drafted to Smackdown. Punk cashed in this MITB contract to defeat Jeff Hardy for the World Heavyweight Championship. Hardy had defeated Edge for the championship only one minute earlier. This has become the reason the fans turned on Punk. For the first time since he was in ROH, the fans hated him. Punk then showed his true feelings, and told them that "Straight Edge means that I'm better than you." Punk went on to defeat Hardy one more time for the World Heavyweight Championship before being beaten by The Undertaker.

CM Punk is the future of the Professional Wrestling business, and I am proud to have him in my company.

Cliffs on credintals:
5 star rated match vs Samoa Joe
ROH Tag Team Champion
ROH World Champion
OVW Triple Crown
ECW Champion
WWE Intercontential Champion
WWE Tag Team Champion
3x WWE World Heavyweight Champion
19th WWE Triple Crown Champion

Re: Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft

Its always interesting to see Foley IRL. He is really, really big and unbelievably nice. You see him at hte mall and stuff and recognize him right away.

Quick story,

I was working at a McDonalds in Micks current town. He would come into the drive through about once a month, order a few big macs and be on his merry way.

One day he was in the drive though, waiting. and waiting. The guy at the window was being a giant prick, bitching over onions or some **** like that.

Mick gets out of his car, about 3 back in line, briefly talks to teh guy who goes on his way. Ofc, he ended it with "have a nice day". Easily my favorite moement working there.

I can't really comment because I don't watch the current product... Meltzer seemed to love his ROH work though.

Eh, I'm not sure. Wrestling is so cyclical, and I think it'd be pretty hard to pinpoint just exactly why it got so huge during that time. You had the Monday Night Wars, the nWo storyline, the WWF Attitude/Steve Austin storyline. I think it's hard to argue that the mid/late 90's had some disgusting talent disparity over the mid-80's, for instance.

Hogan is a much better worker than most people give him credit for. All his stuff in Japan prior to his WCW run is good.

His big matches in the WWF were good if he had any reasonable opponent. Though, somehow he and the Ultimate Warrior managed to have a great match too.
