Re: Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft

Trade now for HBK!

Personally I have nothing wrong with HHH. It almost seems we're at the tier-2 level now (maybe 1 or 2 left) and HHH is very high up on tier 2.

Re: Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft

I'll defend him if I have to, but I don't really feel like I should have to, he's a bigger draw then anyone over the last 7 or so years, and any company that has HHH will have instant credibility with the casual fan....I was almost tempted to take Jericho because I love him, but I felt HHH is a bigger draw....considered some older guys to, but decided to go with a guy whose career I have followed from the start.

I hate Triple H as much or more so than anyone else in wrestling history... which to me totally justifies him here. Hopefully you can find a way to pair a solid face against him.

Re: Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft

More people need to post in the fashion of Dynasty, with the wrestler hidden and the theme not specified but outside of the spoiler. Then I can open it in another tab without looking and be surprised by music, which is infinitely better than reading it. When the Angle theme hit, it was just like watching a real show.

I think it's a little early for HHH, Untouchable and I talked about him going too early though, so others may disagree.
WRONG!

I love how Dynasty did it!

Intro music first...

spoiler tag to reveal the pics and writeup.

Just clicking on the youtube link and letting it play is awesome. Play the guessing game, or just get hyped up.

Imagine we all clicked on the Stone COld Intro music before we knew who was getting picked first overall??? It would been HOF worthy.

That makes sense. Almost has a Royal Rumble feel to it

Re: Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft

If you're going to pick HHH, you have to use this theme. It's about 100x better:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YwjUf_rAhxU

Also, I think there's kind of a natural bias against guys who are still wrestling but toward the end of the careers since you're more likely to think of them as they are now whereas with the older guys, you'll remember them from their prime. HHH was as good as anyone in the ring, on the mic, and in terms of drawing power in 2001 right before the quad tear. He's a fine pick.

this version.

One of my personal favorite wrestling moments ever was marking out during this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_K6crA9e8w

When I heard "One, two, is this on?" I marked so haaaaaaard. God wrestling used to be ***** awesome.

And they booked the interruption incredibly well. You could hear the crowd start to get restless when the Priest asked for speak now, etc., expecting something to happen. Instead of doing it at the most obv. point, they let the Priest get towards the next line before BOOMing it.

HHH was never a top in-ring performer at any point in his career.

Looking back I can't believe they put stuff like this on TV. Drugging a chick and marrying her and then joking about raping her.

No one ever seems to mention this when they talk about most offensive storylines along with Katie Vick and Eddie burning in hell or whatnot, and I guess it turned out to be a con later on, but still.

Re: Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft

Just got home, doing writeup now....I think this is a bit of a reach, but since I don't pick again until #33 and since it doesn't look like many people want to trade up, my hand is forced as I really want this guy.

What are we using as a metric for top? I mean, HHH trails a lot of guys but he's put in some goddamned good to great matches. He's very, very solid and probably right on the edge of being a "top in-ring performer".
