As for Austin, he never had that much success as a heel, whereas it totally revitalized Hogan's career. That imo is the big difference between them.
The point with The Rock though is that the very fact that he didn't have longevity is because his peak was so much higher than Hogan's. It's like trying not to take a guy in a college football draft because he skipped his senior year to go to the NFL. Yeah, you might get less time with him but he was obviously the best while he was there.

Also, while I know this technically isn't supposed to be considered, there's no way that The Rock can get popular enough to leave unless he's in a huge national fed. So basically, your federation will have succeeded against all the other feds and bought them out if this even becomes an issue in which case he's a great pick. If he doesn't single-handedly take your fed to the top, you should get to keep him into his 40s.

Yeah, when I picked Rock over Hogan it was because I value talent more than anything else in this. It seems like automatically assuming everyone has the same popularity goes against what makes these drafts fun. And it rubs me the wrong way that people are taking points from The Rock because he was too good at what he did.

Even if The Rock isn't actually wrestling for my fed for a long time, the publicity gained by his acting career is going to make him profitable for most of the 30 years probably, not to mention how he'll jump start my promotion right away.

If a few people in here can't tell, neither will my fans when I have "Sting" vs Hogan and "Undertaker" vs Hogan.

Well Bando
I obviously took the nwo Sting and Brian Lee. In my promotion they'll claim only wrestler as Sting and Undertaker

This draft has officially jumped the shark when Bando makes those picks and he's serious.

My board's also been ripped to shreds since my last pick. I'm about 10% serious on nwo Sting and 25% on Undertaker.

Umaga (Eddie Fatu) passed away today, only 36 years old. Another wrestler who passed away too soon. Wrestled in Australia on the Hulkamania tour just last week.
