I don't think there's any under rating of hogan. Its impossible to argue that he wasn't larger then life and his run from 84-92 was unprecedented in history up to that point. I think most people's beef with him comes from his run in WCW where he didn't put people over and held people down, which isn't what he did in the WWF

The lack of longevity is not Rock/Austin's fault. If it weren't for Owen's botched pile driver, Austin would still be wrestling today. And the fact that Rock became so popular that he became mainstream shows just how popular he is. I'll back down from my argument that Flair was that much worse than Hogan. My main point was that HBK at 3 was a bad pick.

Re: Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft

I wouldn't necessarily say that the botched Pile Driver was the sole reason for Austin's neck problems. He had a lot of neck problems later in 02 from taking a lot of German Suplexes and those are what ultimately ended his career (the WWF's very stiff ring has a lot to do with this too btw)

great pick, and Kowalski also has a good amount of people that he's trained go on to do big things: HHH, Saturn, and a few undrafted guys too

Man Stasiak got buried over and over again everywhere he went. Just runs out and gets rammed into the truck haha

If there's one thing the InVasion did, it cemented Angle as a top of the card guy

He had a 4 month reign before the InVasion, I think he was a main eventer already.

Watching that Invasion promo leads me to a question? Can the WWE production team be drafted w/ one pick? The promo work they do is just freaking incredible.

Yea, but there's been plenty of guys that got a quick run at the top and then faded out after that. Like CM Punk had a sick run earlier this year, but it's entirely possible that they just forget about him and he never has that kind of success again.

It doesn't matter(see what I did there?) why the Rock stopped wrestling or if it was "his fault." The point is that his value is greatly hurt in this draft because of it.

As for Austin, he never had that much success as a heel, whereas it totally revitalized Hogan's career. That imo is the big difference between them.

Re: Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft

I don't think Austin's "lack of success" as a heel is a big deal. The only reason they turned him into a face was because his popularity was mind-boggling for a heel. The fans forced the WWF's hand, imo. I think that's a compliment to Austin more than anything.

Aye, they always seemed to make feuds seem memorable even if they were actually pretty weak, example - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JL0L3KXcLJo
