So sad. Bret + Edge + Bulldog was awesome. Then it just kind of went downhill.

Also I totally forgot about Shane McMahon (and now I keep forgetting to post that)

I think he's a steal at #125

Re: Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft

Bret and edge were the top after the first two rounds.

At this point, I'm really digging what antidan and wrane have going on

Re: Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft

The first 3 picks are pretty damn good to consider that the worst promotion, let alone "the worst promotion AINEC". I will say that I haven't liked any of the last 4 picks though, and that X-Pac and Teddy Long were both really bad as early as they went.

Definitely don't think Shane's a "steal". Think he still want a little too early actually. I mean yeah, he can be really entertaining sometimes, but he's never going to work anything approaching a full-time schedule and he's not going to be around for very many years either. There were a lot better choices still available for a career draft when he was picked.

Not that I think this should factor in much, but apparently Shane is the big force behind toy marketing and European expansion.

Re: Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft

If that's true, I wonder how much of an affect his departure from the company at the end of the year will have.

Re: Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft

It's kinda funny, for a while I felt like I could just barely think of two wrestlers I wanted and now that it's closer to my pick, I feel like there are 4 wrestlers that I just have to have. Kinda getting a little impatient actually waiting for NozeCandy because I like one of my picks so much. I see 4 wrestlers from round 3 that are clearly worse than him.

It'll be interesting. He had a meeting with Dana White and Fertittas this week. He's always been a big MMA/UFC fan. Would not be surprised to see him join Zuffa in some role.

If you guys haven't watch Flair interviews post-retirement, I highly recommend it. You can really see how much this guy loved the business.

Well, you can't really give an "oh crap" when there's still 20 picks until you come up again. I'm just hoping he slips two more picks to me and I really don't think it's a given at all. As long as NozeCandy doesn't take two of the guys I want, I won't be too mad though as I think I still have 3 really, really good options at this point.

Re: Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft

Considering the guy I want lasted this long, I wouldn't exactly be shocked if he did last 20 more picks. But, it's unlikely.

Re: Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft

Well I would think Shanes prominence as a wrestling businessman should play a role because its a valuable asset to your promotion.

I do however find Shane impossible to take seriously after the DX McMahon parody

Re: Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft

Hey, I'm probably going to sleep pretty soon and I've been up a long time so I could easily sleep for 10-12 hours. Is there someone who's going to be around that I can PM my list too? Ideally, it would be someone that doesn't pick again until after my 7th round pick, but if you have strong self-discipline, I can just send you the list in spoilers and have you not read any more picks than are necessary once NozeCandy goes.

OK, never mind. Just sent them to TheUntouchable. Hopefully, he's not gone much longer than NozeCandy.

Re: Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft

I have iggys picks and Jack Bando's picks. I've been super busy all day and will be unavailable in a few hours so I'll have to send them to someone else. Somebody PM me after Noze picks so I can come in and post the iggy picks. I won't be able to keep up.

Shane works a hell of a lot better when you can combine him with Vince. I actually think Lurch/aj have done a pretty solid job putting together a roster that:

A) Has talented/over performers
B) They should mesh well together

They have the McMahon father/son feud already built in. Goldberg isn't a bad face to lead your organization with, and JBL and the Big Show are pretty solid heel compliments to him. Kerry Von Erich is another solid face to add to the roster. This promotion won't have the best wrestling matches, but you can certainly expect some interesting feuds, at least in the eyes of the common fan.

Re: Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft

Oh I didn't even notice they had Vince already. In that case Shane's business credentials dont really add a lot and you have to judge him mostly on his wrestling contribution. So I guess he probably did go at the top of the range where he should have.
