Re: Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft

The Trish pick has obv. versatility: She entered WWE as manager/valet, was hugely over with the crowd, became one of the most successful Women's Champions, and actually has some decent mic skills to boot. Prob. one of the hottest divas ever as well.

Flair and Rock are probably tied for GOAT on the mic. If anything Flair is slightly better for longevity. Rock's gimmicks might have started to get old if he did them for 30 years. Flair's woooo is just as awesome as ever.

i really think the trish stratus pick is just flat out bad. Women's wrestling doesn't draw, Trish never really drew, and when we only really have 15 wrestlers to pick, those picks are at a premium, and using them on in ring talent is the best way to go. Now, when someone actually tries to claim that Trish drew, ask yourself this, did you ever turn on RAW or Smackdown just because a Trish match was on, my guess is that the answer is no, so no, she never drew

You're drastically underrating how capable Trish is on the mic and in the ring. I can buy the arguments that in the ring stuff doesn't matter much for women, but I definitely think mic ability matters a ton.

I never ever watch wrestling anymore. If I were flipping through the channels and Trish Stratus was on TV, I'd probably stop and watch whatever it was she was doing. I feel this way about one other woman in wrestling too, who imo is even hotter than Trish.

Eh, weekend is likely to be slow. Also a lot of the fun guys have been taken, although I have hopes that people will get really into picking their favorite mid-carders

I don't know all the ratings data for WWE that well, but I do know that TNA consistently was drawing better quarter ratings for the women's matches than they were for the main events even though they had major stars like Angle, Sting, and AJ Styles putting on pretty well-hyped matches in the main events. Just because the average hardcore fan that participates in wrestling drafts and knows all the independent wrestlers doesn't tune in to watch the women doesn't mean that the same is true for the casual fans. If TNA can draw better ratings than 1st-rounders in this draft with women that won't even be considered for a long time, I see no reason why Trish Stratus can't outdraw Rhyno or Road Warrior Animal.
