Me and Lurchy were discussing the Russo pick, and came to the conclusion he's a bad pick by himself. Without Vince, he had no one to filter his ideas, thus we got an awful WCW under his reign.

Uh ... I remember Adams being a babyface down south and sorta a poor man's Shawn Michaels. If he won a heel of the year honor, even better!

Oh OK, he was a big-time face later than that, like in the late 80s/early 90s.

If you don't mind an unknown lurker giving his opinions on this draft, I'll gladly share my thoughts and give out grades/points/etc. I've followed it from the start and have had several agreements/disagreements with decisions made, though decided not to voice them since I'm unknown around here and I didn't think I could present a good argument without mentioning undrafted guys. I know at least one person who posted in this thread (though he's not in the draft) through another site and he could vouch for my wrestling knowledge.

I can proudly say I've recognized every single pick made, and I've been watching wrestling since I was a little kid, mostly WWF/E, WCW, ECW, and TNA, though I've watched notable matches/clips from NWA, ROH, Mexico, Japan, pre-WWF regional feds, and Indy feds, so I think I could give some good writeups, although they will be very brutally honest opinions.

Chris Adams entered World Class Championship Wrestling as a face. He teamed up with the Von Erichs regularly. He quickly entreed a feud with Jimmy Garvin and won WCCW's top singles championship.

When the top heels of WCCW left (Garvin and Freebirds), Adams did a heel turn and had a long-running feud with Kevin Von Erich. During this time, he teamed with Gino Hernandez.

This was the big finale to that feud- a hair vs. hair.

Chris Adams and Gino Hernandez (the Dynamic Duo) vs. Kerry and Kevin Von Erich, Part 1

It has a great ending, including an early appearance of Chris Von Erich.

Generally a few people were waaaaay too undervalued and I'll be sure to note that in my reviews. There was a guy taken in the 2nd round who I would almost certainly peg as a top 5 pick, for instance. Overall it was surprising to see some lifetime mid-carders taken before people who had main evented occasionally, and there's even a few undrafteds that I think should have been taken if only because they were main eventers for awhile. Also tag team wrestlers/women/announcers/managers/promoters were almost always reaches in this draft, though there were some good timing picks. You can tell looking at some of the rosters that people were going in a certain direction, though I'm not sure if that direction was best for making a "successful" promotion with longevity. I'll expand on all this of course, but there were generally a lot of reaches.

I'm fine with you being specific. We could use a little sparked discussion at this point. I don't think anyone's going to be offended by your opinions, people still have to do their final write-ups which should affect everyone's judgment. I'll give my worst/best values in the next day or two.
