Allright, I have sobered up and will now pick. No trade.

I don't think there's any under rating of hogan. Its impossible to argue that he wasn't larger then life and his run from 84-92 was unprecedented in history up to that point. I think most people's beef with him comes from his run in WCW where he didn't put people over and held people down, which isn't what he did in the WWF

The lack of longevity is not Rock/Austin's fault. If it weren't for Owen's botched pile driver, Austin would still be wrestling today. And the fact that Rock became so popular that he became mainstream shows just how popular he is. I'll back down from my argument that Flair was that much worse than Hogan. My main point was that HBK at 3 was a bad pick.

I wouldn't necessarily say that the botched Pile Driver was the sole reason for Austin's neck problems. He had a lot of neck problems later in 02 from taking a lot of German Suplexes and those are what ultimately ended his career (the WWF's very stiff ring has a lot to do with this too btw)

Time to appease the old school crowd (I think) with pick #236

Spoiler:

Killer Kowalski

"In a 1952 match in Montreal versus Yukon Eric, Kowalski ripped off a part of Yukon Eric's ear while performing a knee drop.[1] In reality, Eric's ears were already badly cauliflowered due to years of abuse and the injury was an accident, but it fortified Kowalski as being a ruthless villain who ripped his opponent's ear off."

"The 6'7", nearly 300-pound wrecking machine stood heads above his competition, literally, and was feared as one of the meanest, most vicious and unrelenting villains the sport had ever known. Wladek "Killer" Kowalski's catchy moniker was known throughout the country soon after he made his way into the sport in the years after World War II, and he quickly became one of "TV wrestling's" (as it was sometimes called) biggest attractions."

All the people talking about how famous wrestlers were back in the day when people thought they were actual kicking the crap out of each other for real made me remember this guy. The classic evil heel, Kowalski had a 30 year career in which he feuded with the likes of Sammartino and Buddy Rogers. Great nickname, great longevity, and a violent old-school hardcore style that I think will work in well with the rest of my stable.

great pick, and Kowalski also has a good amount of people that he's trained go on to do big things: HHH, Saturn, and a few undrafted guys too

Man Stasiak got buried over and over again everywhere he went. Just runs out and gets rammed into the truck haha

If there's one thing the InVasion did, it cemented Angle as a top of the card guy

He had a 4 month reign before the InVasion, I think he was a main eventer already.

Allright, I had one pick for "value" and now I'll take one just for kicks at 237

Spoiler:

THE DISCO INFERNO!!!

A reach? For sure, but the last round is coming up which means people will be taking "joke" picks and I'm down near the bottom of that round so I wanted to make sure I got my favorite semi-jobber of all time.

I say semi-jobber, because he actually got a decent mid-card push in WCW's heydey. I mean sure his title wins involved a feud about dancing and him ducking fighting a woman but he held gold baby.

I remember him as being pretty decent in the ring, as he would go against all the crazy luchadores in WCW and looked like he could keep up with them. On the mic and with his general mannerisms, the dude is hilarious. The angle where he tried to join the NWO was so awesome.

The sounds off on this but it's still pretty awesome: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4EPbNWxtXA

Seriously though, the guy got a reaction from the crowd when his music hit and everyone started getting down. He got stuck with just about the worst gimmick ever and made it work. Look at the pop he gets for winning a belt here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=toBQP...dex=47#t=8m52s
Hell he gets huge pops throughout that match.

Since my Bushwhackers plan got wiped, for the time being, he'll be my comedy relief and work as a jobber-to-the-stars kinda role. Watching him take a beating is just as fun as rocking out to his theme music.
Check him out taking the hardest chops ever from Scott Hall here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxDRGUjS7iQ

Finally, he's been convicted for running an illegal poker game in his basement, so I feel like that should get him some 2+2 love.

Roster so far:
HBK
Rick Rude
DDP
Psycho Sid
Mike Awesome
Don Muraco
Ron Simmons
Paul London
Brian Kendrick
Wahoo McDaniel
Bushwhacker Luke
Killer Kowalski
The Disco Inferno

Watching that Invasion promo leads me to a question? Can the WWE production team be drafted w/ one pick? The promo work they do is just freaking incredible.

Yea, but there's been plenty of guys that got a quick run at the top and then faded out after that. Like CM Punk had a sick run earlier this year, but it's entirely possible that they just forget about him and he never has that kind of success again.

It doesn't matter(see what I did there?) why the Rock stopped wrestling or if it was "his fault." The point is that his value is greatly hurt in this draft because of it.

As for Austin, he never had that much success as a heel, whereas it totally revitalized Hogan's career. That imo is the big difference between them.

I don't think Austin's "lack of success" as a heel is a big deal. The only reason they turned him into a face was because his popularity was mind-boggling for a heel. The fans forced the WWF's hand, imo. I think that's a compliment to Austin more than anything.

Aye, they always seemed to make feuds seem memorable even if they were actually pretty weak, example - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JL0L3KXcLJo
