With the 25th pick of the seventh round (172nd overall pick) in the Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft, the Dynasty Wrestling Federation selects:

Introduction Music

Spoiler:

Kevin Von Erich was the oldest of the famous Von Erich wrestling brothers.

Kevin spent most of his career wrestling for World Class Championship Wrestling (as WCCW and other names). Though, he did win the prestigious Missouri state title and the AJPW All Asia Tag Team Championship (with brother David) outside of WCCW.

In Texas wrestling, Kevin was a huge draw from the late 70s to the early 90s. He won nearly every championship he wrestled for and had several high-profile feuds, including with Ric Flair, the Freebirds, and Chris Adams. If he had chosen to wrestle elsewhere, I have no doubt he would have had extraordinary success.

Kevin used a high-flying style similar to Jimmy Snuka.

Kevin accepted the WWE Hall of Fame nomination for himself and his family in 2009.

With the 26th pick of the seventh round (173rd overall pick) in the Professional Wrestling Promotion Draft, the Dynasty Wrestling Federation selects:

Introduction Music

Spoiler:

Mil Mascaras, the man of a thousand masks, was a main event star in Mexico, the United States, and Japan, making him the most well-known luchador worldwide. His innovative style as a high-flyer paved the way for hundreds of stars who followed him.

In Mexico, Mascaras is a legend and easily one of the greatest stars of lucha libre. He’s also a film star with about twenty movies on his resume.

In the United States, Mascaras usually wrestled in the old California NWA territories and Texas. However, he also made frequent trips to the WWWF, including main eventing in 1977-78 against then champion Superstar Billy Graham. Mascaras was the first masked wrestler to ever appear in Madison Square Garden.

In Japan, Mascaras introduced a high-flying style not seen there before and which has been heavily incorporated into puroresu.

Dynasty Wrestling Federation roster:

1st: Kurt Angle
2nd: Dusty Rhodes
3rd: David Von Erich
4th: Superstar Billy Graham
5th: Terry Gordy
6th: Iron Sheik
6th: Bobby Eaton
7th: Kevin Von Erich
7th: Mil Mascaras

With two face picks in the 7th round, I've balanced my roster.

My roster is more 70s/80s than I intended. But, the 90s/00s wrestlers simply got picked early. A lot of mid-carders from the last 10-15 years are being picked ahead of main eventers from the mid-80s and earlier.

Clash of the Champions X: Texas Shootout (1990)

Mil Mascaras v. Cactus Jack Manson (not a typo)

Note: Mascaras was 48 at the time.
Note 2: Lot of hate for him in comments thread.
Note 3: Lot of references to Mick's book as well. Foley's not a fan either.

I think taking both is unnecessary. Stacey is fine here but once you have her I don't think Torrie adds much above the top of the replacement level range

torrie and stacy are just, well, bad. Torrie's biggest moneymaker, vince didn't get that much of a cut of because it mostly went to Hef. They never valeted any talent that was higher then mid-card and with stacy, you get a prima dona that was a PITA in the locker room, only had a short run, and didn't really sell too much of anything. THey didn't even get heat for the guys that they valeted, and neither was good on the mic, and since they were paired with guys who weren't good on the mic, well it led to those guys being even more worthless

Last two picks do not help FlyingRat's case for not being the worst promotion in the draft so far.

For as much as I loved the roster after the Juvi pick, it's become very, very meh to me after that. Not much seems to go together [outside X-Pac (who sucks)v. Juvi] at all.

Considered both earlier. Either one prob. would have still been available later though.

Wrane finally relented on the "Kiebler in four" rule. Mainly because I botched the previous pick so bad that we HAD to get a couple good wrestlers immediately.
