I think there is enough validly as a knock on him that his best work was in Japan. When you factor in that his big entrance to the WWF was basically a fail, it certainly says that he doesn't have star power. It obviously doesn't say anything about in working, but that isn't everything.

this would honestly count as one of teh worst ideas that vince has ever had. Dr Death had a torn hamstring going into the stupid fight against Bart Gunn IIRC. All that did was kill a push before it even started

Yeah I just watched a really good interview of Cornette really ripping McMahon and Russo for this idea. He said Dr. Death was going to get a title push if he won and instead ruined his career. He said it cost them millions in potential ppv sales.

Yep, I remember that well. It was set up for Dr. Death to win that tourney and then Bart Gunn ruined it then got killed by Butterbean.

can someone just give me a quick explanation how a winner is decided....will you have a panel vote on who has the best federation? Seems like you guys are talking about pairing people together for matches and i thought i saw this is extrapolated to 30 years. Just a quick cliff please kthnx.

I believe at the end of the draft we'll round up some judges to rank each roster. Some people started to do this about 2 rounds ago but it was kinda pointless at the time.

My idea is we vote, but split the rosters into group of 2/3/4 and make it a tourney.

Also I could listen to Jim Cornette shoot interviews all day long. And I probably will today. God the BFA was sooooo bad.

I like the system we had for the NCAA basketball draft. Tournament style. Voting takes place then we use the percentages to pick each winner. So if someone gets 75% of the vote, you generate a random number and if it's between 1-75 (out of 100), that person wins. Keeps the voting relevant but decreases potential bias.

Windham adds a full on big guy to the roster. This guy can work his butt off in the ring. He was never really given a chance to run with the belt in either WCW or NWA. He may well get that chance in our Fed as he is a face that can wrestle with our top guys very well. He also adds a face in both the middle of the roster and at the top, and can also work great in tag teams with lots of different guys

Spoiler:

HAKU/MENG

A legit tough guy, Haku began his career in WWE in 1986 and instantly became famous by bodyslamming UNDRAFTED. His first feud came in a tag team capacity as part of The Islanders against The British Bulldogs where they stole their mascot bulldog Matilda.

Haku anointed himself the new King of the Ring when Harley Race became injured. King Haku defended his crown successfully against Race at the Royal Rumble, however he would lose the crown to UNDRAFTED, then go on to form a tag team with Andre the Giant known as The Colossal Connection, managed by Bobby Heenan.

Haku jumped to WCW soon thereafter and began feuds with Sting, Lex Luger, and Goldberg, but Haku was mainly used in the midcard, devouring jobbers and threatening mid-upper card faces.

Haku has several notable incidents of true life badassery. According to his Wiki page:

Quote:
Fifita made a name for himself outside the ring as the toughest wrestler of his era and is known for allegedly biting off noses, and knocking people out with one punch, slap, or headbutt. Though he had an easygoing, friendly personality outside of wrestling, he had very little tolerance for people who tested him. Even renowned hardman UNDRAFTED said in interviews that Fifita was without a doubt the most vigorous. Bill Goldberg has also called him the toughest man he's been in the ring with. His one time manager, Bobby "The Brain" Heenan said in a shoot interview that Haku was "the toughest man I've ever met in my life." In 1987, Haku had a backstage fight with Jesse Barr (who wrestled at the WWF as Jimmy Jack Funk) which allegedly resulted in Fifita gouging one of Barr's eyeballs out, causing Barr to later wear a glass eye. After this fight, Fifita had a reputation that steered wrestlers away from backstage confrontations.

In the book Arn Anderson: 4 Ever, Arn Anderson cites an event where Fifita pushed a cowboy through two sets of doors with one hand - and a conversation with UNDRAFTED about who was tougher. UNDRAFTED just shook his head when Anderson asked who would win in a fight between him and Fifita and stated "Meng's the man."

He also had an altercation with UNDRAFTED after he complained to WWF management that Tonga slapped him too hard during a match. After WWF management informed Tonga, he immediately went to the locker room and grabbed UNDRAFTED out of the shower, and began choking him, lifting him two feet off the floor. Other wrestlers were hesitant to break it up, so finally Hulk Hogan (who Tonga respected) was called in and was able to calm Tonga down.
And hey, he wrestles in his bare feet, that's gotta be worth something.

Spoiler:

"HACKSAW" Jim Duggan

HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

One of the most classic and well-known superstars in WWE history, we are proud to select Hacksaw and welcome him to our roster. Hacksaw made his WWE debut in 1987 after a 4-year stint in Mid-South Wrestling and was instantly well received by fans. Duggan debuted at WrestleMania III and soon developed his "American patriot" gimmick by constantly feuding with "foreigners" and bringing with him his symbolic 2x4 and American flag, which he waved and saluted.

Hacksaw won the inaugural Royal Rumble and began feuds with Harley Race and Andre the Giant. Throughout the late 80s and early 90s, Duggan was a mainstay on WWE television despite never winning a title there. His interaction with the fans and often his "underdog" style earned him his status in the WWE.

Duggan soon began a feud with King Haku, taking the crown from Haku and thus becoming the new King, a title he would soon lose to Macho Man Randy Savage.

Duggan jumped to WCW in 1994 and squashed Steve Austin to win the WCW United States title, his first championship in either of the Big Two. After his feud with Austin ended, Duggan became a mainstay on WCW Saturday Night, leading the midcard and feuding with many different midcarders.

Duggan was diagnosed with kidney cancer in 1998, however he successfully recovered and returned after a yearlong absence.

Duggan "won" his second major championship when he found the WCW TV title in the trash can and pronounced himself new champion. Duggan would continue to wrestle in WCW until its purchase by WWE. At this time Duggan wrestled for TNA and other independents before returning to WWE in 2005 and he was used mainly in an enhancement level, putting over Randy Orton and Edge, among others.

Duggan continued to appear sporadically in WWE through this year but has mainly acted as a road agent and locker room leader.

Surprised the Sensational Sherri pick got such a tepid reaction. I thought that pick was pretty genius tbh.

Windham IMO was CLEARLY the BPA at that spot. In fact, had Wrane and I gotten Windham he would have been our No. 3 wrestler (IMO). Kinda upset I didn't suggest taking him sooner.

That was before my time. I actually don't really know much about him. I briefly remember him as the widowmaker.

jack brisco would be the main face. We'll be packaging him as the "All-American". Kingston would be the one down the road, and Windham was a top level face from about 84-92ish
