I'm not gonna like post everything I disagree with because that took a ton of effort and is pretty awesome, but Rhodes and HBK having the same drawing power is way off.

EDIT: Criminal underrating of Lawler. 5 in-ring? He was rock solid when he was in his prime. Also he has to be a 10 in mic skills as nobody is better. Lawler has to be a 10 in longevity also as he's been around for 40 years and the league is only 30.

How is Sting a 7 in longevity and Andre is an 8?

You really think Lawler is on par mic-wise with the guys I gave 10s? I disagree.

Andre wrestled a lot longer than you think. From early-70s through late 80s. ... Although Sting is 85 to now, isn't he? Yeah there will be some inconsistencies.

Yeah, Thesz and Lawler not being 10's in longevity is just sloppy. In fact the only argument against Lawler being a 10 is because Thesz lasted so much longer. Thesz wrestled his first match at 16 and his last match at 74.

Still interesting good stuff and looking over everything though.

And which way is Rhodes/HBK drawing power off? I'm guessing it's Rhodes drawing higher because there's a reason HBK has not had a long title reign since he's been back in WWE.

Yeah I really do think Jerry is that good with the mic. He also can double as an announcer which has to help. I mean you drafted JR in the third round to show the importance of a good announcer and Lawler could be a hof announcer without even considering his wrestling.

The Thesz/Lawler longevity rankings changes to 10s (I agree, sloppy) didn't change the overall order.

I was thinking about promo ability with mic work. I consider promos and announcing to be slightly different skill sets. I agree Lawler is an added asset in the booth.

Below is the video of Lawler I was definitely going to post if we took him, Lawler is absolutely terrific on the mic. I don't have an issue with having him as a 9, but anything lower than that would just be wrong.

Lawler vs Goldust with pre-match promo

Savage could probably be higher on the mic too. The guy just cracks me up.

Eh, I think Lawler as an 8 is OK. It's not like that's a terrible slight.

Anyway I've done my part to generate discussion and enjoy the alarm ringing way too soon for my liking.

Also, Punk is way better on the mic than Steamboat, Steamboat is definitely below average, which I assume means he should be below a 5. I'd probably put Punk as a 7 and Steamboat as a 3. Steamboat was decent with Jericho working on his promos earlier this year, but his body of work is pretty poor IMO.

Orton isn't an 8 on the mic I don't think, pretty similar to Punk IMO, yeah if Benoit is a 3 on the mic so should Steamboat I think that's fine. Benoit wrestled for 23 years, that's got to be higher than a 6 in longevity.

Longevity seems pretty easy to make objective, but if a wrestler's career isn't over you have to estimate how long his average career from that point forward would be. e.g. HHH has been active for 18 years and it looks near a lock he'll make the 20 year mark, and there's an outside chance he'll make it to 25 years so I'd make him an 8 for now.

10) 30 year career (Flair, Lawler, Thesz)
9) 25 year career (Hogan, Michaels, Undertaker)
8) 20 year career (Jericho, DiBiase, HHH*, Edge*)
7) 18 year career (Eddie Guerrero)
6) 15 year career (Rick Rude)
5) 12 year career (Owen Hart, Batista, Kurt Angle*)
4) 10 year career (The Rock, John Cena*)
3) 8 year career (Bill Goldberg, Rico Constantino)
2) 5 year career (Brock Lesnar)
1) 3 year career (Christopher Nowinski)

* Indicates they haven't actually reached that many years but seem likely to.

Why does Batista have a higher longevity than Nash? Or the same one as Foley? Could probably find more but my point is I think his is a little high.

I like Nowinski. I think I heard he's doing a lot of good work researching effects of wrestling on the brain.

More than that. I read an article on SI.com about him about a month or a month and a half ago. The organization he's in is working w/ NFL types now.

You're putting way more attention on them than my innocuous mention.

Only cause I don't think you realized that they were on there and still undrafted.

No worries, just trying to maintain the spirit of the draft.

Orton getting an 8 in mic skills is way off IMO, he's subpar in that department I would say, some of the promos he delivers are legitimately cringe-worthy....no chance he's better on the mic then Razor Ramon for instance
