People say Wrestling fans are not the brightest...

2 picks have passed, and Hulk Hogan still hasnt been picked...

Maybe these people are onto something...

Are you using him as The Rock, or Rocky Maiavia, member of the Nation of Domination?

I'd say it probably depends upon what you enjoy in wrestling. For me, the actual wrestling is totally secondary to the storylines and mic skills of the wrestlers.

I agree with the points about Rock's longevity; he was a megastar from 1998-2002 but then became so popular that he out-grew the company.

Rock was a much bigger movie star than Hogan, though. Hogan made a bunch of really crappy movies.

Rookie mistake.

It took my a couple drafts to realize this, but it's very very hard to convince people what you're thinking.

or maybe those people who think hogan should be up at the top drank the kool-ade.

fact is that hogan was a major factor in wcw dying. he had WAY too much power, and got WAY too much money. he may have made wcw bigger than wwe for a few years, but overall, he hurt wcw more than he helped.

Yeah, The Rock was no doubt great, but he did only wrestle for 10 years. I think he was overvalued and picked too high.

LOL, Hogan might fall to me at 18th!
Nah, we'll take Hogan if he's available. (At 17.)

then hogan is what you looking for. however, for someone who likes the in-ring action, the legdrop of doom is just ******ed.

The Rock imo.

I'm American. I still have no idea how Hogan got over and I don't think he ever would if he was to start out today. He would barely stand out in today's WWE and you need to have a lot more in ring ability than he does now to get popular with the fans. He's also terrible backstage and just a trainwreck in general.

The Rock's longevity is kind of a concern, but since so many wrestlers *ahem* had short careers I can probably get a dominant promotion for a 10 year span. 30 years is just a ridiculous length anyways imo.

I agree with this, which is why the Attitude Era would still be awesome to watch today, even though I am 10 years older and wiser, the storylines and stuff were amazingly entertaining....of course, it helped that they had great personalities like Austin, The Rock, Vince McMahon etc.

Also Hogan's popularity is before my time so I just don't really care if he was popular at some point. I grew up watching The Rock and he was awesome, and I'd rather have him than Hogan all day.

I think a part of the reason why Hogan's movies sucked so much was that back then pro wrestling fans didn't know nearly as much as they do today, so the "good guys" didn't want to break character in the public spotlight. This led to Hulk being cast into a bunch of roles where he pretty much was the same guy as he played in the WWF. Rocky didn't have to deal with that, as today's fans are much more knowledgeable and willing to see the Rock in different movie roles without it affecting their view of his WWE character.

Not that I disagree, but what exactly is the People's Elbow then?

I agree that I like the Rock better than the Hulkster but I don't think that's true. John Cena is an insta-one that comes to mind.

Definitely, and I will agree that some people like Hogan were so bad that it detracted from the product for me. However, if the wrestlers are at least average in the ring, then I'm happy.

Rock Bottom tho.

Although I do agree both "finishing" (People's Elbow & Leg Drop) moves are beyond awful.

Rock Bottom >> Big Boot
