I really think Pogacar under-estimated Vingegaard's ability to hold onto that lead and thought he could get it back easily. He won't under-estimate him next year and once more I think he'll come back with a stronger team.

I think this is a huge disservice to the level that Vingegaard showed this year. Pogacar cracked that stage and simply wasn't strong enough to get back any time later in the race.

Jonas was super super strong though. He didn’t ever really attack after he took Yellow and he never seemed threatened.

I thought that too but then realised the time difference was so great that he wouldn't have got there if he pushed hard all the way.

No disrespect to Vine, he rode well, picked the right spot to go and deserved the win.

But it is just insane to watch a guy who is in a bunch with the other GC contenders and he just destroys them like that.

Disappointed to fall sleep on the final climb but delighted to wake up seeing Vine interviewed as the victorious rider. And the red jersey hangs on with Mas and Roglic. Turning into a really good Vuelta.

Pumped for today, that last climb looks horrifically steep. Mas & Roglic better try something because I'm afraid the TT of Tuesday is not going to play in their favor

In my very non-expert opinion it was an interesting choice to use that finish but I have doubts that they use it again. So steep, such a narrow road, hard to get decent video. I get that you want hard alternatives to the Angliru but that seems to me like a much better grand tour climb.

He lost time today and it looks like his fall from earlier still troubles him. That + no time to recover with another hard stage tomorrow.

That being said i don't disagree with you. If i had to bet i would pick Evenepoel at these odds
