Yup, without breaking a sweat I bet. He is just on another level.

He's like a peak Sagan with better climbing while also being one of the best time trialists in the world.

Is Caleb Ewan the next Mark Cavendish in terms of power to height ratio?

He's going to go Full Sagan in 2022 when he leaves jumbo to be a super leader in whatever team that has a bike manufacturer willing to pay him millions

Win classics, win every uphill sprint and green jersey

Bora making the race exciting.

Tactically great race by Bora to get him back in green, but Sagan just can't win sprints. Van Aert, though, I mean, what can you even say any more.

So Porte lost time yesterday on basically a flat stage - that will just about do me.

It's pretty much a tradition at this point for a number of non-INEOS GC riders to sabotage themselves on a crosswind stage. It seems only a few teams learn from their mistakes. Pinot and Astana didn't mess up like they did last year, but Porte and Trek gotta feel bad about messing up for the second year in a row. And Landa being one of the guys to lose time on a stage such as this one is something we all can take for granted at this point.

Kwiatkowski is invaluable to INEOS.

God, watching Zakarin descend is so painful.

Van Aert may be an experimental genetically modified super cyclist.

I’m still catching up but that one (Monday?) where there were like six lead changes in the last sprint was incredible.

And Van Aert is out of this world.

what was that alaphalippe attack LOL.

why are betting odds so bearish on bernal? not like he lost time...but i guess they expected him to take some or look better?

Van Aert is the GOAT*, can't believe he's going to have to pick which of the sprint on the Champs, Belgian championship, world road or world TT championship he will win because they all take place over a week

Also, wtf @ all the crowd in the Peyresourde, aren't there like rules or law enforcement ?

Pogacar is a joy to watch.

Nans Peters with his only second professional victory. His two wins are a mountain stage at the Tour and a mountain stage at the Giro, quite impressive.

Jumbo were questionable today imo. Kuss must have had some issue, but their strategy didn't seem very good. They more or less threw their plan B away with Dumoulin only for Roglic to not attack at all. It's not always easy to know how the legs will react, but it was still suspect. It reminded me of a few Movistar teams of the past.

On the other side, it is also nice that Jumbo and Roglic aren't just head and shoulder above everyone else, this Tour could become very interesting (if it isn't shut down due to covid. Holy **** there were so many morons without masks on Peyresourde, it's a disgrace).

I think he thought he could break Yates, if he had broken I think he could've mustered a little more energy. It was kinda desperate tho, he clearly didn't have the legs.

Bernal struggled a bit but it wasn't like he was completely overmatched at all. And knowing that he's likely to peek in the third week and that he's much stronger in the high alps than in the Pyrenees, I honestly think every day he isn't losing time is a win for him.

Bernal looked just like he didn't have it every time there was an acceleration he was lost.

I think Roglic may want to stop playing too cute while he's clearly above him (with Pogacar and Quintana looking good too), last year Bernal was relatively quiet during first 2 weeks and went flying in the last week, if he's on a similar pace where he's going to keep growing over the weeks, Roglic may end up regretting not having a bigger gap, I honestly think he could have gone with Pogacar today and gain 1min over Bernal.

So I'm not a cycling buff I'm only someone who has watched the tour on and off my whole life

has there ever been a rider like Van Aert before? guy is best sprinter in the field, might win the green jersey without trying and also hammered the peloton up an HC climb lol?

He can also do a hell of a time trial (was doing amazing last year in the tour's TT before he fell and had to abandon the tour)

Of course Sagan comes to mind because of his versatility and ability to somewhat climb as well, must be a cyclocross thing

That being said, I don't think he's the kind of guy who will win huge flat sprints on a regular basis and he obviously is not a climber despite how impressive he was today. He'll be great in classics and uphill sprints where it's not all about power like the first stage he's won, he should probably be one of the favorites for the world championship

Greatest all-rounders: Merckx (who just wanted to win every stage and won 5 TdF), Hinault, Fausto Coppi.

More contemporaneous and a tier below, Jalabert won the green jersey for two years, then won the mountain jersey for two years, also won many Classics and the Vuelta
