I think that what Quintana has shown is all he's got, personally.

Either way I didn't understand the acceleration at all - it was like a stone's throw from the top. No point in doing anything that late.

Beautiful stage to watch today, loved it.

Would like to see Thomas attack a podium finish, but I suspect team orders are against it.

Where was Uran today? Have I missed any news?

Here the moment when the TV-motorcycle first nearly crashes with hesjedal and than 'successful' takes fuglsang off his bike.

https://twitter.com/TV2SPORTdk/statu...55075247108096

and here the post stages interview with fuglsang about the crash

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJtzDBe_yvs

Would he be 2nd on the top he would be in the mountain jersey. Now he has 64 and rodriquez 68 points. bardet also at 68 and froome with 61. Serge pauwels with 55.

Re: Pro Cycling 2015 thread: Le Tour, Giro, Vuelta, etc.

I've been watching the Eurosport final kms via steephill along with my nbcsports coverage. Ya, I really have nothing to do. Anyway, the american coverage is a ton better IMO. The euro feed spends way too much time on the yellow jersey group doing nothing. NBC shows the leaders descending and climbing almost exclusively.

Are all global feeds not supplied by the host broadcaster?

There was a 2min gap between the yellow jersey group and the breakaway at the start of the col de glandon (HC) and now they're 4min away already with bunch of weak climbers still left in the yellow group. There's no excuse to be had they're not riding fast, they could catch the breakaway group easily if they tried but everyone is happy with their 2nd 3rd 4th and 5th places. Sky just chilling
Contador has said many times that for him there is 1st place and losing. Now he knows 1st place is not an option, so he's going to give his fans some spectacle, and fight the hopeless fight, because that's what we like to see. If in the process he can make Valverde fall off the podium, that's just gravy.

That road is so awesome. Half of me would like to see the Tour pop over to Yungas Road in Bolivia (aka Death Road) for a stafe. That would separate the men from the boys!

There's some 50 to 70km at 5 to 7% climbs in south america and Himalya, sure it would be fun to have a cycling race on one of those

A time trial there would sure separate the men from the boys

Could be wrong but it seems to me Froome isn't at his best. Ofc Quintana shouldn't try to find out because what good would that do.

Love Nibali though

I reckon Quintana must be saving himself for the last climb today, hoping Froome wears himself out keeping the lid on Nibali et al. Sky are done, Poels surely can't survive much longer.

Re: Pro Cycling 2015 thread: Le Tour, Giro, Vuelta, etc.

I think hes wisely saving energy for the finish. Hard to keep an advantage on 30km of downhill riding. He has to attack on the last 15km today or tomorrow @ Alpe D`Huez.

Re: Pro Cycling 2015 thread: Le Tour, Giro, Vuelta, etc.

I doubt the final climb today will be difficult enough to make any significant difference in the fight for yellow. Poels was done, but they allowed him to get back and drag the tempo down. Now they have put a man in front to chase Nibali because he could become a threat for third (he won't), but if Quintana had tried to go with him, he might have had someone to follow on the downhill section.

Pace so strong here only 30 riders can follow it.

Sick thing is the bottom of La Toussuire has the hardest parts of the Col and nobody is doing anything. Poels is just chilling out there leading the yellow jersey group.

If we're lucky Quintana will attempt something with 2km to go when the slope is 4%.
