With Rodgers and Majkha out in front if Contador doesn't try a big coup here i'm going to be disapointed

He already attacked on the category 2 climb. Movistar reeled him in because they have no balls and aren't riding to win.

I don't know if Quintana is half-trying with these attacks or if he's fully trying but just can't, Froome seems to catch him so easily

To nit, mid-compact is traditionally 52/36.

Can't really tell here, just the tail end of the crash:

Majka repairing Contador's bike, with Sagan standing by to pace him back:

Re: Pro Cycling 2015 thread: Le Tour, Giro, Vuelta, etc.
3rd clip clearly shows rogers only catching up to contador noticeably after the crash, and there having been a sky rider between the 2 of them before it, so yea, definitely not a contador rogers collision.
maaaaaybe sagan. these clips dont entirely rule that out. but i still find it unlikely.

Jens Voigt sounds exactly like Sean Kelly to me.

Re: Pro Cycling 2015 thread: Le Tour, Giro, Vuelta, etc.
Apparently Contador hit a bump and lost control of his front wheel which ended up breaking in the crash. He switched bikes with Sagan and then switched back to one of his own at the base of the final climb.

Re: Pro Cycling 2015 thread: Le Tour, Giro, Vuelta, etc.
I love that there's 10km to go in an Alps stage, and Sagan is there to just casually jump off his bike to give it to Contador, allthewhile being 100 points clear in the green jersey competition.

Isn't Sagan at least half a foot taller than Contador?

Yeah Contador had a rough time on Sagans bike. He changed at the foot of the last climb to one of his own bikes.

Re: Pro Cycling 2015 thread: Le Tour, Giro, Vuelta, etc.
As a relatively casual observer, is it really all over for the GC?
Thought the handshake Quintana offered Froome at the end of the stage seemed kinda telling but (a) that might be reading too much into it, and (b) (again from a noob perspective), the next few stages still look ****ing tough as ****

Re: Pro Cycling 2015 thread: Le Tour, Giro, Vuelta, etc.
Serge Pauwels is all over the tour this year.I read that if you started tracking the GC since the start of the Pyrenees, he'd be the yellow jersey 10min ahead of Froome

Re: Pro Cycling 2015 thread: Le Tour, Giro, Vuelta, etc.
So quintana/valverde/contador etc... are not even interested in winning a stage? That's how satisfied they are with being on the podium? At least if you're not riding for the yellow jersey you have an excuse, Froome is way too strong for them and you can't just decide I'm going to attack him he's not gonna drop but there are stages to be won here.
There was a 2min gap between the yellow jersey group and the breakaway at the start of the col de glandon (HC) and now they're 4min away already with bunch of weak climbers still left in the yellow group. There's no excuse to be had they're not riding fast, they could catch the breakaway group easily if they tried but everyone is happy with their 2nd 3rd 4th and 5th places. Sky just chilling

At least Contador can be relied on to have some pride.

Contador hasn't won a TdF stage since 2009. Thank god he tried, he could very realistically win the stage
