Yea he's not gonna win more than 4. I don't think he's lost one massive sprint excel against Cav though ? So yea he won them all because he's a lot more powerful but he's basically having 5 chances max in this tour.

Not necessary saying there needs to be more sprint stages as such, but the this year a lot of the sprint stages seem to have had something extra in them. Days following the coast with crosswinds, cobbles, short climbs or slight uphill sprints. The sprinters still win stages but rarely with a traditional leadout and usually with some rivals missing.

Yeah, not really sure what happened there. You don't think team Sky PR and approach to the sport has annoyed a lot of the traditional fans?

It will annoy a lot of traditional cycling and not annoy a lot of other cycling fans. But a lot of riders from English speaking countries were annoyed about how they were treated back in the day. But a lot of them just got on with it. Times change and professional sports change. They are still racing though and there are plenty of characters in the sport. It's in good shape in this regard - it's just a shame there's such a sideshow of detractors who claim to be cycling fans who are trolling themselves and their own community. But I guess that's not unique to cycling.

Yeah, not really sure who or what we are talking about at this point. Probably not a topic worth pursuing anyway so might as well forget about it. Guess I said something about Sky I shouldn't have. My mistake, I do apologize.

Downhill finish today. Luckily should be dry so shouldn't be too dangerous. Will be fast and scary to watch those going for the stage anyway. Guess Andy lost time on the same finish in 2011 in the rain. Somehow have no recollection of that stage, just keep thinking of the chain stage but that was in 2010.

Hope they've redone the melting old crappy surface on that road since then. That crash was ugly.

Valverde should be good on downhills as well I guess.

No video of anyone throwing French beer on Froome. But it's a good story to make him seem sympathetic to the media.

Sagan in the break again, he's winning every single green jersey until he retires.

thy might change the rules tho. like only points on flat stages for example

Think it's more likely that Sagan gives up the focus on the green rather than there being more rules changes. Didn't they already change the point distribution this year? Just doesn't make much difference to Sagan. Still amazing that he has the energy to go in the break (and actually get in it) on stages like these where he actually has very little chance of winning the stage.

De Gendt there again as well. Seems like everyday either in the break or chasing the break for Greipel.

That's generally how it goes.

He's hated because he sleeps in a motorhome while Alberto's buddy has to drive all the way to Irun to get dinner.

Richie Porte dropped very easily in the col de Manse. I'm sure he'll have no problem chasing Quintana and Contador when the Alpes come though

Sagan doing an amazing descent even though he's probably going to finish 2nd again somehow

Lol, I assumed today was a rest day and didn't even bother checking until 1 km left in the race.

Yes, Greipel won every sprint except stage 7, won by Cav.

Definitely fewer chances at sprints this year.

Imagine this crash without a helmet.

Obviously awful and sad to see this but let's not forget that Froome without Thomas in the Alpes would make the race more interesting

Glad to see Nabili trying something even though there isn't much point to it. Lot of people in his shoes would have just stayed with the bunch

I'm actually kinda worried they haven't shown any further pictures after that crash.

Edit- he's back chasing the yellow jersey group. Good news

He looks fine. Should have no problem chasing Quintana and co in the Alpes

wow

I would guess he's concussed but that looked way worse. Good to see.
