You won't see me making any excuses for it. I thought it was reckless, ill-concieved, and vengeful. Figured 50/50 yellow/red. Obviously glad he only got a yellow.

Chelsea, in particular Cashley and Terry are an absolute disgrace, and it's only becasue he's England captain that he doesn't get more cards. Good to hear he's out for a month.

You're way overrating Bale, Matt Taylor and Riise are also better than him but I suppose it's natural for part-time football fans to only look at the 'big four' for comparisons. I watched Bale live last season and Micah Richards made him his bitch for the entire game (when Micah was still playing RB).

See my earlier posts for thoughts on Dawson and King. The fact is they did play most league games last season (yes I double-checked before I posted) and Spurs conceded a lot of goals compared to other teams in the league.

Just trying to add a bit of perspective.

P.S City will win 3-1 on Tuesday, you heard it here first
Matt Taylor??? He can't even get a game for Pompey.

Chimbonda a cheat? On the basis of that hand ball? That is a joke surely? He handled, but deliberately is very questionable, the ball flew at him and not a lot he could do. Seems a bit rich to call him a cheat when you have Terry, Gerrard, Ronaldo, Cole etc on the go, he's not even in the same universe as those clowns.

I don't actually agree with you. If TErry stayed on, then so does Fabregas, and from the pic he seems to be concentrating on where the ball was, rather than a look of being out to do Cole (admirable as that may have been)

Fair enough, my last post was a little harsh. I had just come back from the pub

Lol @ Disturbance obviously being a city fan...

Just a small club in Manchester ... !!!!

Fwiw, I have been going to Spurs games for 19 years....Just can't go as much the past 2 years as I play on saturdays and sundays so I share a ticket with my brother ! I used to watch every game @ home for approx 8 years...I go most weekday games when I get the chance!

Man City would give everything to be in our position over the past few years. Although I think you are improving somewhat under Sven, I think 7th or 8th is where you'll finish this season.

If they sign Anelka (as rumoured) or someone of his ilk in the window, they will be a good shout for top 4. Liverpool are as ever stuttering, Chelsea are missing Drogba already and he's out for a while, and we know what a mess Chelsea get in at the back without Terry.

Reports are coming in that John Terry has broken the 3rd metatarsal in his foot and could be out for around 3 months. In lieu of this information bookies have slashed Chelsea's odds and they are second favourites for relegation.

Obviously my point of them being second favourites for the drop is still valid, especially when they lose half the team to the ACN.

Well that's not a nice thing to say at all.

Thank god Carvalho is coming back, the thought of the Hebrew Hammer at Centre Back for long frightens me.

This rumor that we are going to be shipping nani over to spurs troubles me. Nani is really awesome and we just bought him 5 months ago. Why on earth would we sell now?

PITTM,

it troubles me more as i can only think of 1 player going in the opposite direction and if that happens I'll be gutted !

I would do the deal if it was Nani+Brown and £12-15M... Happily...

Other than getting Nani, we lose one of our most creative players....and Nani was highly regarded before he went to ManYoo...

I'd rather have Anderson than Nani...We need a midfield maestro as opposed to a flamboyant winger

A good point well made. Some of it is down to the 6-0 abomination against Chelsea where I think the team suffered from a little over-confidence and tried to attack too much away from home which obviously backfired badly and gave up a little bit for the last 2 goals. Add to that a fair few matches that City have won 1-0 makes for an unimpressive goal difference.

I'm still happy with 1-0 victories though (remember the '1 nil to the Arsenal' days?). Hopefully points will make the difference come the end of the season and City aren't screwed by the lack of goals. Although it's pretty much guaranteed we will have 2 new strikers in January (plus Bojinov back and a good possibility of Castillo) so who knows?

Haha, yes I am very definitely a City fan. Technically we are the only PL club in Manchester

Pre-season but post Sven I would've been happy with 10th place as my expectations were low after the last 2 years. Now I'd probably be a little dissappointed if City fail to qualify for Europe. Finishing 4th would be dreamland.

I like the way Spurs play football and I'm really enjoying the way City are playing now under Sven in a similar vein (reminds me of Keegan's first season). I think Ramos can definitely get Spurs sorted again but he will still need a bit of time and free reign given from the board. There is quite a bit of history between Spurs/City in cup competions and I really hope the balance is redressed slightly tomorrow night
