people like you are responsible for the job loss in america, you propose ideas like these then wonder why so many people are unemployed.

anyways I think they should reduce the ball count to 3 balls it would make the game more exciting

Football. This is 2010. Every college game and pro game is telecast. Stop using the chains for measuring first downs. Retire those two out of shape guys who are holding the chains. It would stop injuries from players crashing into the guys with the chains.

If you want football scores, allow teams to use their own pitchers like in friendly non league softball games.

Weigh-ins for Combat sports should be day of fight. Not doing so undermines the whole idea of weight classes.

NFL: on kickoffs the receiving team should not be allowed to down the ball in the endzone. If they catch it they should have to run imo.

In NBA, if someone is fouled and makes the free throws, if someone else would have gotten an assist if the shooter had scored on the field goal attempt, the passer should get an assist. (Lebron just got robbed of an assist when Arroyo was fouled on a 3)

that's more of a stat change than a rule change

anyway i think it's a pretty unnecessary rule, and kinda dumb to extend regular season games any longer than they currently are. but i'm sure the league would love the idea, anything to create more powerplay time and goals is great.
Uh, it's not a freeroll at all, the current way things are is a freeroll. If you gain an advantage via penalty, the disincentive for doing so is you play a man down for two minutes. At the end of the game, if you take a penalty, that's a freeroll since you avoid the full punishment while getting the entire benefit.

Eliminate the charging call in the NBA. There is no benefit to it right now, players are flopping all over the place. An actual charge may occur only 5 times per season, but the league has adapted the charging rule to be so vague officials call it 5 times per game. Less players would get injured. game would be more exciting slashers would go inside to dunk and big men would try an block shots instead of falling down. Less free throw attempts, faster pace game. I see only benefits to this.

Lebron would score 80 points per game

thank you, since i've had this debate with 72off more than once - how he can use the word 'freeroll' in this context i have no idea.

bons forgot to add that that rule would only apply when the team who has committed the foul is ahead by 1.

How about any minor penalty committed in the last 2 minutes when up by 1 goal results in a penalty shot for the opposition instead?

Change the way penalty kicks are done in soccer. A referee should not have to swallow their whistle on an obvious foul because it happened on the edge of the box and is not deserving of giving a team a ~75% chance of scoring a goal. Have some free kick option that is better than a free kick from the spot but is less severe than a current penalty kick.

NFL - Stop babying the damn quarterbacks. If somebody launches themselves into a QB's head, call that a penalty. If someone is trying to make a swim move and taps the QB on the head, that isn't 15 yards.

Take off a man on each team every 5 minutes or something in soccer OT. Shootouts blow.

Idk, after the hundreds of posts during the WC more "Americans try to fix soccer" seems like too much too soon still in 2010.

What if a guy tires to deflect a pass a on follow through hits the QB's head? Happened to the Bills Sunday (in Bills favor). I was happy that the drive got extended but thought it was very ticky-tack.

restructure the MLB postseason ffs.

-7 game DS
-1 off-day per 7 game series
-1 off-day between each series

This business of practically being able to use a 3-man rotation during the postseason needs to end.

All for overtime hockey
- change ends so the bench is further
- 3v3
- no icing on penalty kills

and the can't end the game up 1 short handed is good as well.

NBA rules.

not a shot clock violation if the defending team grabs the rebound off an air ball or such.

NCAA basketball

implement the NBA rule where you can advance the ball up the court on a TO

Jetto....explain the logic behind being able to advance the ball up the court on a TO. Seems to make zero sense to me.

on a timeout? that's what I meant

1. Football:

-Narrow goal posts to make field goals a bit harder.
-Have two pass interference levels (intentional:spot foul like now, and unintentional (max of 15 yards or spot of foul if less)
-If you get all your challenges right, then it should be unlimited amount.

2. Baseball: 100% agree on less off days in playoffs, 3 man rotations are ridiculous. Move 1st round to 7 games.

yes on a TO. you call TO under your own basket. why should you be able to inbound 50% closer to the other net?

edit: it probably more like 60%
