Excellent.

I Googled teams win/loss from the last 20 years and coudn't find anything. But I wonder if 5 teams finished undefeated. Then there would have to be 8 teams in a playoff. But has that ever happened?
ZOMG.. college football playoff system. Mebbe this should be discussed here? LOL...

FWIW, I'm all for an 8 game playoff system. It has tons of upside (for the teams, the bowls, the fans) and very limited downside imo.

probably already mentioned but i would change both NFL and college pass interference.

I would have a 15 yd penalty for all PI less than 30 yds. any PI over 30 yds i would make it half the distance from the spot of the foul and the line of scrimmage. so a 50 yd fould would be 25.

id really like to find a way to penalize the intentional walk in baseball but then you have the "unintentional intentional walk" something like awarding 2 bases for 4pitch walks but i think thats too wrong.

on a pass interference late in the half, the clock should be reset to what it was at the start of the play.

Problem: if I'm defending a receiver who is about to make a catch, I will tackle him.

I've thought about this alot and you know what would make baseball awesome, instead of 9 innings of 3 outs how about 3 innings of 9 outs.

So at least you know the whole team will get to bat at least once per innings, imagine how much more important managing and strategy would come into play. Intentional walks would be at a minimum, because there would be more base runners on base

Replace the tackling rules in football with rugby league rules- you've got to get the ball carrying arm down and hold the player down , not just get a knee down. Voila- less injuries, and players that have to learn how to tackle properly.

NFL

-bring back the 5 yard face mask penalty which allows the ref to use some discretion on face mask penalties.

-make the 5 yard penalty for illegal contact passed 5 yards no longer an automatic first down. (For example, its 2nd down and 25, a 5 yard penalty for illegal contact is called it would only become 2nd and 20 not 1st and 10.)

- loosen the rules for helmet to helmet hits, if not eliminate the penalty completely. its getting ridiculous now that defenders don't even know what a legal or illegal hit is, defenders aren't even leading with their helmets but they are still getting flagged for what is really a legal hit.

MLB

- in extra inning games when both teams have used up their entire bench, i think each team should be allowed to re-enter one of their used bench players/pitchers. it gets kind of ridiculous in the 18th inning when your short stop has to pitch.

Holding in football should be 5 yards..Basically, an arbitrary penalty that total alters the course of some games on big plays.

So a lineman who holds because his defender beat him and it going to sack the qb should be rewarded? He doesn't hold and it is atleast 2nd and 15, with your rule, he holds and now it should be 1st and 15?

eliminate timeouts in bball, it's ******ed that you can just stop the game so often. would make the amount of dead time caused by fouls a lot more tolerable

CFB: limit reviews to 60 seconds. if the guys upstairs can't figure it out in 60 seconds, the ruling on the field stands.

You can't challenge on offense in the first quarter if it will be first and goal inside the 1 if you fail. SAme goes for d challenging to make offense get first and goal inside 1.

In baseball, make pitching a "declared eligible" position and manager must declare the 4 pitchers eligible to pitch when he submits starting lineup. If game goes extra innings, manager can declare 2 more eligible at end of 9th. (To allow for injury, if a pitcher is injured, then one of the previously used pitchers may substitute back in the game, but such an in-game exemption requires the pitcher to automatically go on 10-day DL to prevent any abuse.)

I've felt this needed to be changed for a while, but it needs to be changed immediately after today after the refs rigged the game against K. St.

Unsportsmanlike penalties should not be yardage penalties at any stage in the game. There is a simple solution to changing this in the NFL. They like fining player anyways, so just fine them for this too. I think it's all b.s., but you want a deterrent to this type of activity just fine the player, don't penalize the entire team.

It can't be done this way for college, but this is just ridiculous. There are so many that aren't called that would be called in another game. These aren't professional athletes and shouldn't be held to the same standards as professional athletes when it comes to celebration penalties.

It's just a shame that what happened to K. St. tonight actually happened.

still would love to see a restricted area and also the rule where you can advance the ball in mens college basketball. also move the shotclock down to 30.

you can't fine a player if they cant get paid. maybe fine the school?

i'd rather the guy have to sit out a certain number of plays. next one is an ejection

I like this. I don't think a player should ever be ejected though for that type of behavior though. Escalating number of plays needed to sit out for a 2nd, 3rd though for sure.

It could be more simple and they have to sit out the entire next drive.

Refereeing is bad enough without having to now keep track of which players in uniform are eligible or not to play.

You would think. But how many college DB's give up a long TD instead of doing this?
