For the purposes of this draft a practice decision will count. The intent of the in-game rule was to prevent people from drafting personnel moves since those are going to be way more impactful than any one coaching move and I wanted to head off people taking draft busts and lopsided trades at the pass

The bot could be headed down a super dark path here now that I think about it

Range is very polarized for this BOT pick, high hopes given his strong performance so far

I will pick PJ Carlesimo telling an already disgruntled Latrell Sprewell to "put some mustard on that pass."

Now, this doesn't sound too bad, but Sprewell wasn't very happy with the comment and told the coach he wasn't in the mood for criticism and to keep his distance. Instead of heeding this warning Carlesimo approached Sprewell and Sprewell responded by threatening to kill him and choking him until he was pulled off by teammates and other coaches. About 20 minutes later Sprewell had showered and came back to the court to take a swing at the coach before again being pulled off him.

Most coaches only do things dumb enough to lose a game or something. Carlesimo wasn't satisfied with that and decide to put his life at risk over practice.

Haha great pick. Not as dark as I thought it would be though.

Will do full write up tomorrow but il take

Sven Goran Eriksen letting Jamie Carragher take a penalty at World Cup 2006

Tldr Carragher hadn't taken a penalty at any level in 5 years and didn't wait for the whistle, thus making his first kick void. He missed the second and England were eliminated.

An ultraelite top-tier pick is still on the board. I wish I could make a guest pick

The Domenech pick is amazing, had never heard of that. You could've gone into the 2010 french team shenanigans more tho. Includes the team bullying players for reading books, staying on the team bus and refusing to train, and Anelka telling him to get ****ed in front of the team.

Could you possibly be on shaky ground here, or wabbling and in danger of face planting?

The Coach

The Play

So I know what you're probably thinking. Wait, what, App State-Michigan, and you picked the App State coach? But yes, it's true, proving that even some of our most cherished sports moments were almost wiped out thanks to pure coaching stupidity.

But first, to recap. Entering the 2007 season, Michigan opened the season as the fifth ranked team in the country after an 11-2 season. They opened the season at home against Appalachian State, the two time defending 1-AA champions, but still a game that no one thought would be any problem. According to Wikipedia, Las Vegas declined to offer a line on the game. According to the complete hack RJ Bell, there was an unofficial line of 33 points, whatever that means. Either way, Michigan was expected to win easily.

But as you know, that didn't happen. It was a close game throughout with App State leading for most of the game, until finally Michigan took the lead late in the fourth quarter. But App State came back and took the lead themselves with under a minute to go on a 24 yard field, only to see Michigan complete a deep bomb on their second play from scrimmage to set up what would have been a game winning 37 yard field goal. You know the rest from there. Stop, my penis can only get so erect.

But, this didn't have to be so dramatic if the App State coach didn't make an enormous coaching blunder. Let's check the play by play for the go ahead App State field goal, shall we?

Code:
1st and 10 at MICH 29
(0:30 - 4th) Armanti Edwards pass complete to CoCo Hillary for 24 yards to the Mich 5 for a 1ST down.
1st and Goal at MICH 5
(0:30 - 4th) Timeout MICHIGAN, clock 00:30.
1st and Goal at MICH 5
(0:26 - 4th) Julian Rauch 24 yard field goal GOOD.
That mother****er kicked a field goal on 1st and goal with 30 seconds to go. Even the dumbest NFL coaches in the world know enough to take a knee and run the clock down before spiking it with a few seconds to go. He didn't even force Michigan to burn their final timeout, they were able to call it after hitting the deep shot. And he even had an entire timeout for him and his coaching staff to figure out what to do and they still massively bungled it.

So yeah Jerry, you might have won the game and another 1-AA national championship, but that doesn't mean I'm letting you off the hook. We were one blown blocking assignment away from having one less tool in our toolbox to bring out whenever 2+2's worst fan base is getting a little uppity. I would never have forgiven you had Michigan's kick been good

The cliffs are:

-kicking a FG from the 1 yard line in a 0-0 game as an 8.5 point underdog
-kicking a FG from the 1 yard line in a 3-0 game literally 3 minutes later after getting the ball back on a fumbled kickoff
-kicking a FG on 4th and 1 from the 22 in a 13-0 game
-establishing FAT EDDIE 21 times against a great defense despite having a QB who was playing at the highest level ever
-getting the ball back with ~7 min left in the game up 12 and immediately going 3 and out then getting the ball back after an interception and immediately going 3 and out again while running a total of 3 minutes of clock
-playing prevent defense and allowing the seahawks to march 69 yards in 7 plays and 1:43 to cut the lead to 5
-playing prevent defense again after allowing them to get an onside kick and allowing them to go 50 yards in 4 plays and :44
-moving the ball downfield to the 36 with :43 left in the game down 3 and settling for a 48 yard FG despite having a QB who is known for making miracles happen and scoring when he needs to late

I'll post the 2p2 reactions in a separate post.
Not to mention the guy that got the pick looked like he could have housed it or gone deep into Seattle territory kneeled it. I'd guess under orders from fat Mike

Zim, we went 4-8 last year with a QB who's going to be an NFL starter week one and nothing was done, lol at you if you think I'm anything but numb to it at this point

While the Jim Schwartz flag throw is hilarious, it is arguably excusable. Dude got caught up in the moment, it was a super obvious ref **** up, it hadn't happened to anyone else and been publicized, etc.

But you know what's completely ****ing inexcusable? Making the same exact ****ing mistake like two weeks later!

Spoiler:

Spoiler:
FAT MIKE pulls a Schwartz like 2 weeks after Schwartz Schwartzed, gets bailed out by JORDY having the GRIT to hide the flag

That's right, he made the same exact mistake. The refs didn't enforce the penalty because reasons. But, hilariously, Jordy Nelson instantly knew what FAT MIKE was doing and tried to hide the challenge flag!

looooooooollll what a ****ing dumbass

Round 4 Selection

It's taken far too long to introduce one of our favorite CHILLY coaches:

4. OMAR CHILLY attempts to trip Jacoby Jones on punt return to prevent TD.
