(1)Bluejays Redsox game tonight

Jays have 1st and 3rd with 1 out and Rios on 3rd. Batter hits a ball just inside the 3rd baseline and Lowell fields it withing 10 feet of third, realizes he can't get two and gets Rios at home.

Announcers says Rios should have probably stayed at 3rd. WTF, Rios is already taking a lead, and running on contact with the ground ball. So WTF is he supposed to do? Stop, run 20 feet back towards third, leap 15 feet in the air over Lowell and land back on 3rd?

Shortly after, they were comparing Hill with Alomar, and just when I thought wisdom was going to prevail, Rance says is too soon to compare Hill with Alomar, that they will have to wait three more years.

News flash. Alomar was the 1st or 2nd best secondbasemen of his era. It will ALWAYS be too soon to compare Hill with Alomar.

I would be willing to bet you needed to have your sarcasm detector turned on for this one.
No, not at all. That's what made it so hilarious.

On the WVU/ECU game, Andre Ware just said he thinks Deion Sanders is the best NFL player of all time.

Yeah when I hear that I was like, WTF? He isn't even in the top five players ever to play for the 49ers.

MNF crew going on and on about how Fisher's 14 seasons with one team is unprecedented in the modern NFL. Probably talked about how unique and amazing it was for about 2 minutes.

I guess modern NFL doesn't include last year, when Cowher coached his 15th straight with Steelers.

This recent thing where they say "He's playing like a little boy again. He's just out there having fun, and it shows." really needs to stop. Everytime they talk about Favre I cringe when I hear this crap.

Early in the Penn State Michigan game, Paul Maguire predicted that there would be twice as many passes as runs in the game. Final stats. Runs 82 Passes 60

I don't normally get in on the press bashing threads because, well, I just don't read that crap. Unfortuantely, this one was on the front page of ESPN NCAAFB.

web page

Synopsis. USC *might* play a more difficult schedule than LSU.

NO [censored] SHERLOCK!!!! Does he not realize that the Pac-10 plays an one more confernence game than the SEC? That's one less cupcake. Does he realize that USC schedules the toughest non conference schedule of any team in a BCS conference? Does he not realize that the Pac-10 is arguably the toughest conference top to bottom in the nation?

I took a look at the Sagarin strength of schedule ratings, and by that measure, the last time LSU played a more difficult was 2001! LSU was ranked 20th and USC 24th! In the last 9 years, USC has played a top 10 schedule four times, and the 11th toughest twice. LSU? ZERO!!!

I don't think this is such a stupid remark. Deion Sanders was the most dominant defensive player of my lifetime. I'd take him over LT (the original LT).

Deion revolutionized the game.

Deion would shut down HALF THE FIELD. If he was lined up on the right side, you'd better throw left.

I had never considered him the "best NFL player of all time", because offensive players get all the hype. But when that post got me thinking, I realized that he was the greatest defensive player I've ever seen.

Did you not see LT in his prime? HE revolutionized the game. Deion was a really really good corner cover. LT is the greatest defensive player ever and it's not close, and I'm not a Giants fan.

When you consider positional value, it's not too far a stretch to call Deion the greatest defensive player ever.

I know shutdown corner is like the rarest and most valuable commodity in football, but is it really THAT much more important than linebacker/DE/superfreakhybridkilltheQB?

No, but Deion was rather insanely awesome. Also, his returning skills should probably be considered.

Title of this article is just ridiculously unintentionally hilarious.

“I think I’ve been a little lucky this year, no question,” Posada says. But that doesn't nearly explain his skyrocketing average.

LOL
