Bob costas just had an editorial halftime speech on Sunday night football where he talked about the discussion on whether or not Belichick was right to elect to kick in OT. He then suggested that, either way, the new OT rules aren't fair because "you can't let the outcome be decided by a coin flip." He proposed that we keep the exact same rules except that the kicking team gets a chance on offense after a TD also. He said that would be much more fair.

Rams score a TD to go up 12 w/ 10:30 to go in the 4th. Kick XP to go up 13. Neither announcer (Chris Myers/Ronde Barber) say anything about even the possibility of going for two.

Flash forward to one minute to go in the game and Seattle looks likely to score a TD soon to make it a 6 point deficit and Meyers pipes in with "oh how big that missed XP in the 1st half looms now."

No dumb****, the decision that you didn't comment on half an hour earlier is.

Can someone fact-check this article?

Mike Carey is not as bad at his job as you think he is

They have a log that states he was 90% correct on his replay predictions, and was only wrong four times all year? That can't possibly be accurate, can it?

Is there any way we're conflating memories from Mike Pereira misjudgments, Carey from 2014, his idiocy over the Shazier hit on Gio (which wasn't technically "wrong"), etc?

I still don't think so. Dude was wrong so many times, it became a running joke long before the Manning backward pass. Gotta be some missing data.

Also I've seen 4 mistakes from Carey this year alone from like 4 games. He was wrong twice in one of the playoff games I believe.
