Way to completely pee your pants in the playoffs, POR. They stink all around, these last few games are some of the worst I've seen them play all year, good timing you frail chuckos. I condemn them. Pretty sure this is pure LOL "play for pride time" until they can book a few good halves (or not, they are playing like Vs).

Yeah I just linked that to show how recently people drastically overvalued some of POR's trash. I think when Mirotic actually got traded POR was rumored to be in the mix, but it would've made some sense and that's not how Olshey rolls. He specializes in the "bad at the time, bad in hindsight, bad" kind of deals.

They were a 41 win team last year and 1 of the healthiest teams in the NBA this year in a conference with tons of injuries to the other playoff teams. They get a nice edge in the regular season from staggering Lillard/CJM and have 1 of the best homecourts in the league.

But really they're not very good. One of those series that the underdog crushed and you feel like you should've seen it coming because it isn't very shocking.

I think you still do because they just really don't have much pathway to getting better. It isn't like Paul George is going there and they have a very limited amount of cap space.

I know they've found a lot of smallball success in the playoffs but I still think their pathway for the next 4-5 years (or atleast until the Celts trade for Brow) is trying to be a better version of the Grizzlies and pounding these teams for playing wings at the 4, zigging while everyone is zagging. I think they can be a team no one really wants to play in the playoffs because of that.

How much $ are the Pelicans willing to spend though? Boogie will demand alot & the way Rondo is playing i assume he's going to get a 1-2year deal worth alot.

Even with this resurgence I doubt Rondo has much leverage. Probably gets like 2/15 or something. Just isn't going to be a big market for a player with that specific of a skillset that can't fit into many teams. And he'll be 32 next season.

I would think they would be willing to pay Boogie since they did deal for him.

For all that's being said, Portland shouldn't do too too much this offseason. This has just been a terrible week for them but it's not indicative of the team they really are. I think they ran good to get to 49 wins, but it's not like the Pellies crapped on them in Portland or they didn't split the series.

I think this is where bad franchises start chasing their tails...
