Killing dogs isn't that bad in the grand scheme, either.

I think LFS' point is that regardless of your personal feelings on the legality of marijuana, Phelps getting caught smoking it is an incredibly stupid act which will adversely affect his current and future marketability.

Not to mention that the IOC or whatever swimming body can effectively bar him from the '12 Olympics, which would pretty much result in him pulling a Brooks in Shawshank.

phelps seems like a total douchebag, but I still feel bad of him, its gotta suck when doing something normal and having fun is a bad thing.

He actually reminds me a lot of like the young socially inept poker players who all of a sudden get rich and dont know how to handle all the attention and just turn into asshats....hopefully he grows out of it

When he was at U of M, the student Onion ripoff ran a story with the headline "Michael Phelps To Major In Pussy". In the story, they basically said "oh, he said this to one of our guys at a bar so we ran with it."
