Re: Peyton Manning landing spot thread.....

It's not like the Niners can come out and say they are interested right? They risk pissing off their current QB and then not getting Manning.

what are they gonna say publicly when their qb from last season's a free agent and manning hasn't even been cut yet?

Yeah, 9ers say "No Interest" even if they just faxed Manning a contract, it means basically nothing.

rebuild mode? I would think they wouldn't be too upset at Manning taking Ponder under his wing for the next 2 years. but, idk.

Until Peyton is officially cut, technically anybody saying anything about him could be considered tampering, resulting in fines and other penalties.

It will be extremely interesting to see just how fast things move when everybody can talk.

Prediction: Jets and Giants switch conferences, Peyton signs with the Jets, beats the Colts + Luck in the superbowl

I'd love manning on the vikes. Thats just not what the newly appointed gm is going to do.

To sum it up, they're probably the 3rd best fit for Peyton.

In the NFC West.

Why is that?

Pretty good team that needs a QB.

Basically, receivers, location, and opportunity to win now.

Peyton to SF or AZ are both much stronger, based solely on that one move, than Peyton to SEA.

The real issue is whether Peyton and whoever his OC is can design the 'Peyton Manning' offense and teach it to everyone to get them all on the same page quick enough to make him perform at his peak level. Lots of teams suffer in the first year of a new system, and I can't imagine anything being more complicated than the mess Peyton runs at the line of scrimmage.
it would be awesome if Tom Moore was on a coaching staff somewhere...

AZ only finished one game above Seattle last season.

BTW, saw on another forum that Vegas has the Cards as the favorite to land Manning, with the Dolphins being 2nd favorite.

This would be the perfect (and maybe only) way to end the Tebow era in Denver without causing an uproar. If I'm Elway I'm busting my ass to sign Peyton.

He was on a 1 year deal with the Jets and it's over. That's why he was at Duke watching Peyton work out.
