Re: Peyton Manning landing spot thread.....

Assuming Peyton can play at 90%, I'd definitely roll the dice with him before giving Alex Smith a new contract. Had an okay year but history counts for something

1. niners
2. jets
3. dolphins

very very little chance he signs with any other team
YOUR DISRESPECT TOWARD YOUR NFC WEST BROTHERS THE SEAHAWKS (who also have lots of cap space) DISGUSTS ME

GOOD DAY

Seattle D > Miami D, Jets probably don't have the cap space.

Re: Peyton Manning landing spot thread.....

Confirmed, Jets have ~8m in cap space, they will eat up 4-5m signing their draft picks, Peyton's self-esteem can't be low enough to play for a mere $3m

Re: Peyton Manning landing spot thread.....

i have a hard time thinking he'd want to go to an AFC east team. if he wants the best shot at winning, being in the same division as brady is a pretty lol way of going about it. washington's just a ****ing mess and peyton meshing with shanahan/snyder is just not happening

Re: Peyton Manning landing spot thread.....

I can just see that. Peyton wants 20m\3yr, Jets turn into Mets and offer 18.77m\2yr, Peyton signs with Miami and torches them for 30 TDs over next 3 seasons. Epic!!!

Baltimore would also be incredible just to show how AIDS Flacco is. Do they have cap space?

Re: Peyton Manning landing spot thread.....

Main contenders are KC, Miami, and Seattle imo.

one is gonna end up with Tannehill, one with Peyton, one will suffer through another year of awful QBing.

Jets would excite me the most but pretty much anybody who gets him will be fun to watch.

As it stands, the Cardinals do not have a ton of cap room to be able to work with. According to one report, the 2012 salary cap is estimated to be around $124 million. As things currently stand for Arizona, they would only have about $4 million to work with.

Re: Peyton Manning landing spot thread.....

Let me just post this little nugget. There's room for error but I'm going off the Jets salary cap site. Assuming they've kept up with any restructured deals:

Mark Sanchez 2012

Cap hit playing for the Jets this season: $14,253,125

2012 cap savings by cutting him before 3/28 when roster bonus due: $11,996,875 ($2,256,250 dead money).

That's a pretty negligible cap hit. If they see another QB they like better it's not as if they're financially tied to Sanchez. There's $12m freed up right off the top. If they want to take a shot see who can be renegotiated and make a run this year and the next.

Not saying they would give up on Sanchez, just saying the option is there. And Peyton is a free agent.

Pretty confident several AZ players would take pay cuts as well as cut Kolb.

Re: Peyton Manning landing spot thread.....

you mean they'd take "restructuring deals", no way any of them would accept significantly lower pay to have Peyton, esp not Kolb.
