I remember that play well, but highlighting that play only and attempting to extrapolate it over his whole 2010 season would be like showing a replay of one Jason Bay home run as a Met and saying he has been a great power hitter for them. Moss was bad in 2010 any way you slice it. He played for 3 different teams that year and was jettisoned by all three. His total stats stunk, and he was obviously a problem for all three teams.

I do agree with your general comments about him though. I just think Peyton would rather have Wayne, and whatever team signs Peyton will not even consider Moss unless Peyton OK's it. That much is certain.

That vid feature with Tebow was so <words can't describe> that I was almost brought to a few tears.

Amazing that he openly calls football a "silly game" when comparing it to real life heroes. Shows he really "gets it" from a life standpoint.

I almost want to see Peyton go to Denver, to see Tebow react like we all know he will. It will just be another test, another trial for Tim Tebow to go through. Plus an opportunity to learn from one of the goat QB's.

Then we'd get to watch Tebow do anything/everything to help the Broncos win. Tebow would move to TE/FB and play in short yardage QB packages. Heck, maybe even play some Linebacker - Lord knows he's big and strong enough.

It would be something else.

Starting to get the feeling the whole Den/AZ tour may just be a master play by PM and his agent to get everything he wants out of Miami before signing with them.

i mean, if you're manning, you're getting like 2/40m or 3/60m?

wouldn't you rather do like 3/40m or something and have your #3 receiver be that much better?

he obv can't really need the money

they need 3, maybe 4 new o-linemen, and (sadly) stephen jackson is nearing the end... I think they're further away than people are projecting. their d was awful last year too, and their #1 wr is still danny amendola.

That being said, he probably doesn't "need" to make much of any money from NFL Salary in the next 3 seasons. So why not sign for the veteran minimum and allow his team to spend that money on other players?

I figure the NFL Players Union would never "allow" him to do something like that, but I always wondered that about mega rich players in sports. Why not just take a considerable pay cut, so your team can sign other players?

I saw two numbers for Peyton's net worth, $115m and $142m. Let's take the lower number and say his net worth is $115m now. So what's the real difference between retiring at $125 million net worth in 3 years vs. retiring at $150 million net worth in 3 years instead?

You're super loaded and completely set for life either way. Plus if you give your team a considerable discount, you'll be praised in the media and it will help your legacy. Then there's the added championship equity you provide yourself with the skilled players your team can now sign. Win more championship/s and that helps your legacy and increases your post-retirement earnings.

It would be super sick if Peyton chooses his team and then signs for like $15mil over 3-4 years lol

Re: Peyton Manning landing spot thread.....

If Peyton was gonna offer to play for very little money he probably would have done so in Indy. Who knows maybe he did but I don't see him playing for far below his market value. Athletes always need money. Plus isn't he divorced with kids?

Ok my bad don't know how I made that up. Still don't see him playing for super cheap. I could see him taking a mostly incentive based contract tho.

Peyton's agents want him to sign for as much as possible so they can get their 3% cut to be worth more.

if the owners split revenues more fairly in the last CBA or simply elected to make the salary cap higher, teams could sign more players too. seems to me that billionaires should "do what's right for the team" before millionaires do.

Re: Peyton Manning landing spot thread.....

Great article from the Denver Post about Peyton's visit:

http://www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci...roncos-sources

He will make a decision before free agency starts and he is only interested in the teams he visited: Miami, Denver, Arizona. Denver seems to have the advantage.

@VicLombardi: Just heard from my peoples. Broncos now 95% confident he'll sign with Denver. Their number, not mine.
