If Steelers are 10 million under they still need to sign draft picks. Meaning they have less room to work with than you are thinking unless they waive so more of their players.

where were they ever 100-1? i have future odds from every major sportsbook and best price on them was +6349 for super bowl and +2613 for AFC

So weird thinking that I'll be rooting for Peyton manning rather than cringing as he shreds my team apart.

Peyton is the Justin Timberlake of sports. The hate a people have for Manning is directly proportionate to the amount of hate they have for themselves.

I JT, and I still think don't like Peyton at all. Probably my least favorite elite QB.

BTW, just as a fun question to see how sold people really are on Peyton, how many QBs do you take over him for next season only. Just imagine your the GM for a contender and want to give them the best chance possible to win a Super Bowl next season. Say that after next season the entire league will be redrafted so no future concerns matter, but his health is still obviously a major factor in terms of getting through the season.

I'd probably put Peyton somewhere in the 5-7 range on that list. Think he's clearly behind Rodgers, Brady, Brees, and Rivers with Romo and Stafford being maybes. Is that in line with what the rest of the thread thinks? Don't really wanna get into an argument about how people rank the other QBs on the list (especially not Eli vs. Romo derails). Just curious how high you guys would put Peyton.

this might be true in generalities but it just isn't ****ing true for me. i hate myself more than anyone on 2+2 but i'd bet i'm in the 95th percentile of Peyton love, which is REALLY saying somethign since as a Crimson Tide born and bred fan, I ****ing hate that ****ing horrible group of people up on the goddamn rocky top

Actually, thinking some more with the chances that Peyton doesn't finish the season, you'd have to take Stafford or Romo over him for 2012, right? Think he's a firm #7 on the QB list looking at this season only, but would put him at #5 looking just at how I expect him to play when he's actually in a game. Really don't see Denver as any kind of Super Bowl frontrunner just for adding him. Honestly, they might not even be a legitimate favorite over San Diego to win the West.

You are clearly underestimating Peyton's ceiling imo, he did a lot those last two seasons at Indy with an awful O-Line.

I'd only take Rodgers over Peyton but as a Colts fan and Brady/Brees hater I am obviously biased. Romo>Peyton seems just lol to me tho.

Peyton Manning's deep ball already looked to be on the way out, so he's already not peak Manning most likely even fully healthy. Still, less then peak Peyton is still legendary in multiple ways. It's really hard to attach some kind of numeric probability that he gets seriously injured, so it's hard to say where to rank him in terms of "Who would I want for 2012, all things considered".

Manning could easily be the best QB in the NFL this year, seems silly to suggest otherwise imo. He's the GOAT

def taking ELIte over Peyton

in all seriousness ppl underestimating the difficulty of a QB switching teams late in his career and completely undermining the previous offense. Peyton/Denver offense prob gonna struggle for at least a handful of games to start

His GOATness was based on super precision w/ his teammates and more than a decade of running things his way. He hasn't played with NFL players in over a year and is going to have minimum 9 new players to work with. I think he's still obv top 10 but its not gonna be nearly as pretty as some ppl are making it out to be

Given the risk involved I'd value him at =Eli for one year only, no future conciderations. Would rather have Rodgers,Brees,Brady in that order. Then it's Eli=Peyton already for me.

favre switched twice in 2 years
came out playing great the first ten or so games with the jets and played great all year with the vikings-the adjustment should be way easier for manning

only guy im taking over peyton is rodgers. brees is close.

I think san diego is more likely to finish 4th in the west than first (and im a bolt fan).
