ok I guess what I posted above wasn't exactly right, it's not done yet, and it looks like the team will have a couple more outs than I thought.

also it's pretty annoying how this is written. it's not "$40m guaranteed in 2013 and 2014" if the team has injury outs

Quote:
The deal includes $18 million guaranteed once it is signed, league sources told La Canfora, and there remains ongoing discussion about injury language in the contract, according to sources with knowledge of the situation.

If Manning passes a physical in March 2013 he'll be guaranteed $40 million over the next two seasons. There is currently an injury waiver in place, however, that should Manning injure his neck in 2013, the Broncos can void the contract at that point and 2014 would not be guaranteed, sources told La Canfora. Those sources also said there is ongoing dialogue about that injury waiver, and whether it should apply to both years, and until Manning signs the deal that is not locked in.

Much of the language and final details in the contract can remain on the table until the deal actually is signed, according to La Canfora. None of this is big enough to preclude a deal, however, the final language on the injury waiver still could change somewhat between now and the actual signing.

And, great now if Broncos miss the playoffs it because of schedule. Where as they keep Tebow and miss the playoffs because of Tebow.
Well, I think the Broncos are still favs to come out of the division. It's certainly easier to blame failing on Tebow than Peyton if they play to their true form since, u know, Tebow is much much much worse

Peyton is the best person in the NFL, not just the best QB. I love everything about him, inside and out.

And someday he's gonna be the best head coach in the NFL as well.

Thx for heads-up on ESPN2.

He's gonna wear #18 too. Someone here stated that number had been retired by Broncos, but he's apparently been given the okay to wear it.

I know everyone realises this but the 8-1 Vegas has on Broncos winning the superbowl is a load of rubbish and simply Vegas trying to take advantage of morons.

As far as genuine no vig lines go they actually went from ~100-1 to 19-1 with the signing.

Problem with the Tebow top 3 argument is there will be QBs who are young now, in college, or maybe late in high school that could easily trump Tebow. Luck will be here soon. Griffith could be good. Barkley could be good. Newton could easily move quickly up the ranks. Being a top 3 QB in the NFL is tough to get into. I haven't seen much that shows me that Tebow can get to that point. For the last 10 years you basically had Brady / Manning locking up 2 spots and Brees with the last couple of years. Warner was in there as well for a short time--Favre as well. Now you have Rodgers. Stafford is pretty legit if he stays healthy. Rivers could come back up. Not sure if Ryan can make a leap. The point is getting to the top 3 or even top 5 level in the NFL is not an easy task. Tebow would have to improve a ridiculous amount to get to top 10 much less top 3 in the NFL at QB.

The problem with this post is that it's in the wrong thread.

I could quote, but if you look back at the 1780-1810 posts in this thread there was much discussion on Tebow's peak.

My bad. I thought it was intended for the College Football Draft.

if he passes his March 2013 physical, it activates a 40M guarantee, paid as 20M salary in 2013 and 2014. then for 2015 and 16 he gets $19m in salary (but these 2 years aren't guaranteed)
Perfectly structured, well done.

Seriously that contract is so well done. I couldn't be happier with this entire thing.

Now sign Wallace.

Wallace is good, but Decker and Thomas are both good and forgoing their first round pick plus the money to sign Wallace isn't worth it in my opinion.

Thomas showed at the end of the season once he got healthy and fully fit that he had lots of potentional to be great WR. Im far from sold on decker tho.

If Denver are gonna go all in for manning they might aswell aim to build a team to win now. Wallace is pretty much perfect for them and better they spend their late 1st round pick on a known #1 reciever who can perform now rather than draft a propsect who they may have to groom which they dont have the time to do during their manning window.

Steelers are probably only about 10 million under the salary cap. A team could get Wallace for well under market value with the Steelers still being literally unable to match the contract especially if it is front loaded. Wallace compares favorably to Vincent "I'm not going to even pretend to try and break up that pick even in my contract year and I'm still a problem manchild at age 29" Jackson and very favorably to Pierre "paying for potential" Garcon.

Steelers $10 Mill under cap means teams giving him an offer sheet would have to put it at over $10 Mill/yr. That is not well under market value for mike wallace.
